Of course they are allowed to carry out their protests. However so are the people that choose to protest against them.

No, sometimes they are not allowed the right to protest.........

English Defence League march through Tower Hamlets banned by Theresa May | UK news | The Guardian

BBC News - London EDL marches stopped by government ban

The irony of the mealy mouthed great unwashed all demanding their right to demonstrate at a funeral is plain for all to see, not least because these would largely be the same group of people seeking to restrict other peoples' right (such as the EDL) to express their political expression as it does not align with own ideology.

We'll see how committed these people are to freedom of expression and right to assembly at next week's March For England down the seafront.

Sometimes they don't, very true. If you read the articles you have posted their are specific concerns about public disorder. Perhaps the specific intelligence suggested that the protesters were intending to cause public disorder by doing something like holding their protest on one of the largest Muslim community areas in the UK.

I can't speak for the other mealy mouthed great unwashed (or what ever name calling you would like to get involved with) but in my opinion people should be allowed to protest so long as their protests are not going to cause public disorder problems, violence or vandalism (obviously many protest do end up with these kind of problems but then there is no crystal ball) . The police obviously thought that these protests were going to cause problems so the banned them.

Next weeks March for England hasn't been banned then, so the EDL obviously do have the right to protest

Those people who laugh and celebrate when someone has died, I hope somebody does it when their parents die. I hope the police absolutely smash the left wing scum AND RIGHTLY SO. We would expect to be allowed to mourn the death of our parents without some arse wipe ruining it so let the Thatchers mourn FFS.

I'm sure the socialist workers will be having the tant, they will be the first to winge about the heavy handed police. Can't wait to see it.

Ahhh back to her glory days, there is no more fitting tribute to Maggie than the police beating **** out of a few socialists is there. I don't know what everyone is getting so upset about, she would have loved it, her perfect send off.

i expect there will be a few minors there too. She'll be in heaven............metaphorically of course.

SHOREHAM BY SEA
Her relatives? like the daughter who calls blacks " gollywogs" and the son the arms dealer and convicted mercenary financier.

What I think is horrible...and I mean really upsetting,is the thought of a demented and scared old woman being shoved into the ritz and surrounded by strangers when she died...her kids couldnt give a shit about her when she was alive so it's a bit rich them flying in from Switzerland and America to feign grief and fill our TV screens with their stupid faces.

She wasn't even being looked after in her own Belgravia home at the end. Did no one else not wonder why she was in a blimming hotel?

Maybe it was her wish to die in the ritz? Do you personally know them?

There is so much hypocrisy here that it’s almost laughable. The right-wing are absolutely indignant that anyone should even consider a simple protest such as turning your back on the coffin, and insisting that the police should arrest the protesting scum. In fact, pork pie is actively hoping that some of them are killed by the police, the angry lil monkey.

Now, when Tony Blair or Gordon Brown die, these same right-wingers will be posting in fury about them receiving some kind of ceremonial funeral. They will be using their ‘witty’ nicknames such as Tony Bliar (ha ha ha), Gordon Clown (someone sew my sides back up!), or The Lie-bour Party (oh my, that is genius), and they will be frothing at the mouth if the police arrest anyone peacefully protesting Blair’s war crimes or whatever at the funeral. I wouldn’t put it past pork pie to jump in front of the hearse wearing a suicide belt just to make sure he’s really dead.

You’ll all be toasting their passing, don’t deny it.

No they should not, the sick ****s. It is a funeral for Christ's sake! Also, as it will be by the same scum who gave us the Poll Tax riots and the battle of South Yorkshire, they will almost certainly cause trouble as they do not accept the principle of the Ballot Box and free speech. It is their way or civil unrest. They are pure filth.

I would not rejoyce at their death you sad little man. Nobody should at the death of any British polititian. I celebrated when they were removed from power, and could not **** this country up any further. Anyone how did not agree with Mrs Thatcher had the same chance after "the Night of the Long Knives". Anyone who cannot let someone who did so much to change this country from the sick man og Europe to a world power again, be remembered in peace is truely retarded.

You have it right there. She was the last PM to have the balls to fight for what she thought was right. Hopefully there will be a few of all the groups she tried so hard to not be allowed to taint this country.

Yes turning ones back on the funeral possession is and act of pure filth by a sick **** who should be killed by the police (especially those who travel by bus to get there).

All this has done wonders for your grotesque character of a hate filled Tory, it really is very clever, you should take it to the stage. Like Tim Nice But Dim with psychotic anger issues for the Breaking Bad generation.

ANY act of irreverance should not be allowed. There is no need for them to be anywhere near the place. They will be obstructing the view of people who want to pay their respects to the greatest PM since Churchill.

Maybe you could do a stage show for the funeral, I think she would have liked you.

There is no right to protest, or freedom of speach in this country any more. Blair and his cronies stopped all that. Anyone who tries to express an opinion about anything that is not in line with their views is committing a "hate crime".

I am sure she would, and me her. She was very pleasant when I met her briefly at the Congress in Eastbourne. It was no good to see so many of her supporters there, and the pathetic little pinkos under police protection taking our photos and saying we were the NF Leader Guard! The tossers were scared shitless by a group of local lads paying our respects.
