I can't be certain, but I think it's possible we may sign someone before next season?

Mind you, with Christ at the back perhaps we won't need to.

I wasn't moaning....

It's just weird seeing how much work out back 4 needs working on.

Offering extensions to players under existing contracts is one thing, but signing new players would probably be a job for the new manager.

Hmm not sure about that, given that it is the club who have excercised the right to take up the one year options. It's exactly the same principle as signing a new player really. Who's to say the new manager would want David and El Abd!?
Think probably Bridge and Upson were dependant on promotion and probably at the core of Gus throwing his budget wobbly on Monday.

Surely they wouldn't have released Painter if they didn't at least think a 1st choice LB would be easily available in the summer ? Or do they think Maksimenko is up to the task?

Quite disappointed to see Brez get offered a new contract, it's a waste of wages for somebody who's 3rd choice, I'd rather see a youth goalkeeper at 3rd choice, our youth keepers are never getting chances.
Makes sense as can't be on much money. Back-up option for crises.

I cannot believe we are going to have Brezovan AND Ankergren on our books AGAIN next season.

Yeah strange one. I would have got rid of Ankergren (one mistake too many in big games), and probably kept Brez as he's probably cheap and clearly doesn't mind being 3rd choice for much of the season.

I'm sure we've got options but, I think it's more likely that we know that Painter definitely isn't good enough as a fact! Couldn't believe how slow he was against Wolves.

Could it be that, with no left back we've got an agreement in place with Bridge?

Also, everyone seems to have forgotten about Bruno :(

Huh? Thats Wayne Bridge short of a decent and pretty regular pre xmas back four for us. Plus we also have Bruno. Seems like not much work needed at all. New CB and LB which could still be Bridge.

Please that Hoskins has been retained. Hope that Dave renews his contract as he has been class this season.

Shame to see the loanee's go, just hope we dont end up signing Hammond as he is far to slow and negative.

Looking at the players left and assuming spanish dave and el-abd sign the team is in better shape than I assumed.

Pig
Bruno greer dunk/el-abd new lb
Spanish dave bridcutt orlandi buckley
Ulloa hoskins

Plus cms, lualua, jfc, calderon

3 signings from being in very good shape.

Might stop being miserable now

Due to the FFP rules there will be loads of experienced Premiership players like Bridge and Upson becoming available. Only so much is available to be spent within the market by all clubs.
This market is for buyers not sellers. There will be some bargains to have the longer we can wait. It's a case of whether we can hold our nerve.

I know that, but it seems that people have forgotten he's in the squad when listing who is available etc.

I think TB has a fair bit of experience at holding his nerve.

In a holdingyournerve contest I think he might do rather well

Didn't you see what happened to Watford when they gave their youth goalie a shot in the last game of tjw season lol??
