I've still not given up on Hoskins, he's just been incredibly unlucky. If he can get back fit (yes I know that’s a big IF), I really think he has something to offer. He's a natural finisher, cooler and more clinical in front of goal than CMS and with better more intelligent movement. If he could just get a run of a dozen games, I reckon we'd see dividends. Pleased he's got another chance with us.

Agreed. Deserves a proper chance, not one game then back on the bench again.

Should we read too much into Tony Bloom offering the quotes to the article on Seagulls.co.uk regarding this rather than Gus? Can't remember him ever speaking publicly about the playing staff before now...

Albion have extended the contracts of skipper Gordon Greer, Ashley Barnes, Peter Brezovan, Inigo Calderon and Will Hoskins – exercising one-year options in each player’s contract and extending their deals until June 2014.

Of those other players out of contract, the club has made new contract offers to Adam El-Abd and David Lopez. Meanwhile Gary Dicker, Marcos Painter and Vicente have been informed they will not be offered new deals.

Chairman Tony Bloom said, “On behalf of Brighton & Hove Albion, I would like to thank Gary, Marcos and Vicente for their efforts on behalf of the club and wish them well in their future career."

The loan agreements for Wayne Bridge, Dean Hammond and Matthew Upson have now expired. Bloom said, “I would like to thank Wayne, Dean and Matt for their efforts this season.”

Quite disappointed to see Brez get offered a new contract, it's a waste of wages for somebody who's 3rd choice, I'd rather see a youth goalkeeper at 3rd choice, our youth keepers are never getting chances.

Tony is managing the team himself next year :lolol:

Seriously, it looks to me as if Gus is well and truely out, hopefully to maybe Fulham or Everton so we get the 2million compensation which will help with FFP.

Surely Ankergren is of now. There really isn't any need for 3 senior keepers.

You'd think, but I remember looking at the back of the Wolves (I thinks) match programme, and they had about five in the squad!

Offering extensions to players under existing contracts is one thing, but signing new players would probably be a job for the new manager.

Pretty sure, going by his Twitter, Sampayo has left (along with East)

I can't be certain, but I think it's possible we may sign someone before next season?

Mind you, with Christ at the back perhaps we won't need to.
