The Troubadour
It did. Good decision from the referee. After the game they played back the highlights and quite clearly it was not handball.

I screamed for handball from the stands but watched it back with a beer after the game and it did hit his chest .

Apart from Dobbie I'd go along with that. I thought Dobbie started brightly and did well for 20 mins. Quite a poor 2nd half but I can't imagine he's very fit. Gonna be an excellent player once match fit I think.

Yeah to be fair I gave him an overly harsh mark. I was just pissed off with him in the last 15-20 minutes when he was jogging back and not getting back onside. I think him and CMS would be very good (if played together)

Poor game. I don't mind us losing to a good side, but I believe the goal was Brum's only shot on target. Where was Orlandi? And why the decision to take ElAbd off? Presumably because they offered such a minimal threat going forward thet Gus figured Hammond would do more with the ball in that role? And, if we are going to sling crosses into the box, we need a target man!!

Kusczak 8. Nothing much to do, but what he did he did well. Looked to have no chance with the goal.
Calderon 5. OK, but offered insufficient attacking threat.
Greer 5. Poor defensive header for the goal. Not great today.
ElAbd 7. Couple of great tackles and a strong game.
Bridge 9. Great in defense and going forward. Looked most likely to score or create a goal.
Bridcutt 7. OK, but has played better.
Hammond 5. Was this the same player who did so well against Sheff W? Looked slow and some poor passing in the 1st half. Did OK at CB in the 2nd, but not much threat to deal with.
Dicker 8. One of his best games for us. Some great passes. Corners were good in the 1st half, but poor in the 2nd.
Barnes 5. Pretty ananymous.
Buckley 6. Not one of his best games. Offside too often and did not always produce the right final ball.
Dobbie 7. Great with the ball at his feet, but not so good in the air.

Subs:
Lopez 2. Did nothing. Why bring him on?
Lua Lua 6. Did not do enough to justify coming on in place of Barnes.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
The players that stood out were Bridge, obviously with him up and down that track endlessly and always dangerous, Bridcutt for carrying out his sneaky hardman middle of the park routine, and Dicker for appearing all over the park with some measured balls. Was annoyed with Greer for a puny headed clearance for their goal and for the endless balls straight into the keeper's paws when it looked like something was about to happen. And Hammond had a real off-night before playing at centrehalf where he then had not the most to do. Birmingham were dogshit. A poverty of talent and effort outside of their backline and I'm annoyed we didn't slap them about.

Never happen as Barnes will play before CMS and Dobbie can team up.

OK,I'm going to explain this here hoping it stands out more than coming after the rating:

Greer loses two points from me, because he passed to Calderon a grand total of twice in the whole match. And on one of the occasions he demanded the ball back right away. Unti about the 70th minute he seemingly refused to even look towards Calderon as an option. Buckley had to come over to the left to get a chance of getting the ball. How are we going to provide a threat if all our attacks come down the left wing? How are we supposed to create space upfield if our opponents know they don't have to bother marking calderon when we have the ball in our half because he's not going to get the ball. I've skimmed some of the other ratings in this thread and noted someone point out Calderon didn't really contribute much. He couldn't because no one on our team seemed to want to pass to him. It was so frustrating to see him in space time and again, and instead watch greer turn his back to calderon and play it over to the left. His general passing was over ambitious too often. He has some games where he makes the long pass time and again, but he just wasn't doing it today. That is why his mark is so low. It would have been a 6 to 6.5, but because of his apparent steadfast refusal to play to Calderon I'm giving him 4.

Kuzszczak 7 - no chance with the goal, a little panicky at times, but generally comfortable
Calderon 6 - contributed as much as he could.
Greer 4 - see above
El Abd 6 - seemed a little over powered, or hesitant.
Bridge 8 - only player who really seemed to want to win
Buckley 6.5 some dangerous runs but, in the second half at least, every one of his cross was either a gentle lift into the keeper's arms or into a "danger area" where none of our players showed up to create any danger
Bridcutt 6 - over powered, made some magnificent attempts to win the ball in the air but mostly just went flying spectacularly away from the ball
Hammond 5.5 - seemed lost, didn't seem to know what to do and took too long trying to decide
Dicker 7.5 - good performance, net turns a great range of passing, not quite attacking enough
Barnes 6 - a slight lapse of concentration could have go him booked, but he seemed intent to stay on his feet as much a possible today (might have got the penalty he was frustrated not to get if he'd gone down, though probably not with today's ref).
Dobbie 6 - Some may rate him unfairly because he didn't run around like the man he was replacing, but he showed some good moves, some neat touches and turns.

Lopez 5.5 - seemed mostly anonymous or overwhelmed.
Lualua 6 - put his crosses in with a bit more venom, but still too close to the keeper. Seemed reluctant to take on his man at times.

I don't think any of our claims for penalties were pens. The handball looked to me like it his the guy's chest, barnes maybe got clipped but it would have been harsh.

I mentioned it with barnes, but it seemed our entire team was trying not to go down so much, Perhaps if bridge rolled around on the floor instead of getting up the Bham player would have seen red, maybe lualua would hav got freekick on the edge of the ox if he's gone down right away instead of trying to stay on his feet but ending up going down as if he was trying to con the ref into giving a penalty for the foul outside the box, but I liked seeing our players trying to stay up, and would rather miss out on deserved free kicks, than encourage our players to go down on the slightest contact.

I also struggle to see how CMS would have changed things. It's not like the ball went to areas CMS usually attacks, or that we were playing them into CMS areas and forgetting we had Dobbie on. Bruno would have made a difference - we'd have a right back that one of our centre backs would use and create a threat on both sides of the pitch to spread the defence.

We lost because we gave them too much space in the middle, had no threat in the box, crosses either went gently into the keeper's hands, or to areas where no player had bothered going to even though they are textbook areas, and because Greer decided to make Calderon a passenger.

In case it is not clear, I am so very frustrated with Greer's decision making today. It was appalling.

I agree with the majority of this post. Greer frustrates the hell out of me and always looks as if he is not sure what to do with the ball. He had many chances to get the ball forward early today, but chose the wrong option and his passing was woeful and often put team mates in trouble. I am not a Dicker fan but thought he had a good game today especially in the second half after the substitutions. Dobbie showed some good touches, but Lopez looks as if he needs time to adjust to the english game. For me, Lua Lua must start the next game in front of Buckley or Barnes who were in and out of the game today.

Worthing
Kuszchak - 6 - Little to do, no chance with goal
Calderon - 5 - Offered little
Bridge - 8 - MoM
Greer - 5 - Can't disagree with somem of the comments re his decision making
El-Abd - 6 - Couple of crunching challenges.
Hammond - 4 - Very poor, worst performance since returning
Bridcutt - 7 - Defensively very good, broke up lay, but passing was off today a little.
Dicker - 6 - Shocking for 55 mins, then when Hammond moved to defence started to spray the ball about more.
Buckley - 6 - final product missing. Caught offside way too much.
Barnes - 6 - Tracked back well and worked very hard.
Dobbie - 6 - Looks promising at times, but is quite sloppy with the ball on occasions.

KLL - 6 - Looked dangerous initially then marked out of the game.
Lopez - 4 - Oh dear. Always difficult to get in the game as a sub, but decision making was poor and passing inconsistent.

Ref - 5 - West Midlands based for a Birmingham match - bad call. Gave us very little.
Linesman - 3 - Couldn't work out the when player was becoming active.

You thought Dicker was the 2nd best player on the field .... Ok then???

Yup, so did I, I only saw one stray pass from Dicker, probably the best pass completion rate on the pitch today.

Not sure what we achieved by Hammond dropping deeper. I would have liked to have seen someone with his height in the box.

Bridge 10 best game for us, must be pissed off tonight
Kooshack gets 7 but had nothing to do except pick the ball out of net after Greers daft header
Bridcutt 7 Because he seemed to do his job

The rest N/A because they were largely invisible and did nothing of note

Officials were gash

Bigbelly-Smallcock if you think Dicker was worthy of a 2. Behind Bridge he was our best player by far, can barely remember him giving the ball away and played some lovely weighted cross field passes.

We were crap first half. Should have had a penalty when Buckley was pulled back not just once but twice. Better second half but goal shy.

The ref was so biased it's not true.

Very disappointed. A last season performance.
