Must be fun playing Monopoly with Boris at Christmas.

I expect he takes Mayfair and Park Lane but everybody else has to pay for any houses and hotels plus he gets to keep the Get Out of Jail Free card for the whole game.

King of the World

You mentioned Gove earlier on the thread. He famously got his young and very athletic nanny to stand in for him and Mrs Gove in the parents' race at school sports day.

any context and details for that stat? given the propensity for the disease to hospitalise people with additional health conditions, that could be a normal rate of re-admission.

Could well be, but the chief medical A&E nurse and consultants in the meeting said it was unprecedented how so many people are returning with organ failure. The main one being blood clots forming and attacking the lungs.

When this all started I questioned the symptoms, Laura said at the very outset that me taking warfarin for blood clots ( PEs) was a distinct benefit, backed up by a nurse who asked me if I had been vaccinated yet, ages ago, and I said I was waiting but was taking warfarin and she said “ that is ok then, you are not at risk at all”

That sort of confirmed what Laura had said.

I always thought the wink emoji was meant to show you weren't being entirely serious but nice projection.

Fair enough, your personal standards meant you couldn't vote for them which means you either didn't bother voting at the last two general elections or voted in a way to make it more likely Corbyn would be PM. Either way you aren't best placed to make any criticisms and certainly don't hold any moral high ground.

So if your basic argument is that Johnson was effectively the lessor or 2 evils - why on numerous threads can’t you accept any criticism of him? There’s no GE on the horizon, can’t you cope with any critique of government?

A better question would be, why is putting an alternative point of view or adding information to a topic ... eg they will be self-isolating apart from essential government business and the pilot scheme already covers numerous public/private sector organisations, as reported by the Beeb is misrepresented as me not accepting any criticism of Boris or the government?

NSC has numerous threads and posts slagging off the government, which is fair enough but shirley diversity of thought and opinion is a good thing  *

Swindon, but used to be Manila
We took my mum out on Friday for Lunch, the lady on the door I dont think had a clue about track and trace, I scanned in and my wife scanned in, Lady on the door said Mother must scan in 'its the Law'
I tried to be calm and told her Mum is 90 and does not have a phone.......lady then says she will need her phone number...I repeated 'she don't have a phone'.
LAdy on door.....OK give me your number and you can contact her if needs be.....I explained that I have already scanned in so would be pinged if necessary, ....No we must take your number....by this time I was starting to lose it....false number given and walked in.....its pathetic sometimes.

Brilliant timing one day before freedom day . i'll give it 6 weeks then full lockdown again ,so frustrating .

But our dear leader has said at least twice in briefings that the road map is "irreversible". No going back.

Nobody could possibly believe that our PM is a liar surely?

============================================================================================================

"Johnson would not recognise truth, whether about his private or political life, if confronted by it in an identity parade."

"I have a hunch that Johnson will come to regret securing the prize for which he has struggled so long, because the experience of the premiership will lay bare his absolute unfitness for it."

"Dignity still matters in public office, and Johnson will never have it."

"There is room for debate about whether he is a scoundrel or mere rogue, but not much about his moral bankruptcy, rooted in a contempt for truth"

"Most politicians are ambitious and ruthless, but Boris is a gold medal egomaniac. I would not trust him with my wife nor – from painful experience – my wallet."

All quotes from Boris' former employer Max Hastings.

Did you lick your fingers, pick your nose, rub your eyes or stick your finger up your bum immediately after visiting the petrol station?

The risk of infection from touching hard surfaces is very low. The evidence of transmission risk on hard surfaces have generally been carried out in lab conditions, which don’t reflect real life.

Is your daughter lateral flow testing? Perhaps she is asymptotic but passed it to you. The biggest spike in cases is kids.

My 6 year old daughter and wife had a test this morning, negative. My daughters friend who I collect from school, along with her mum and dad, all had tests and all came back negative.

I respect your views on this, but taking in to account my own movements and the fact I hardly see anyone outside of the bubble, the petrol station seems the most likely place now.

I have managed to work all through the pandemic when I was least protected, got my second jab last Monday only to catch it a few days later, typical

If the numbers continue as they are, I wouldn't be surprised. People want to get out and enjoy life, I want to go on holiday, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen until next year now.

How does this country find the right balance between freedom and keeping the numbers down.
