If they know the break-even figure is 13,000, they must know what those 13,000 will be paying.

Collectively, yes, but not individually. I should imagine there will be a whole range of ticket prices, as outlined by Gandolf, above.

Besides, I think the more important point is the cost of the stadium itself. During the delays the costs of raw materials, especially steel have rocketed. Not only that, but we will be building this thing at the same time as the 2012 Olympic sites are being constructed 50 miles up the road. People in the construction industry will be able to name their price and say "take it or leave it."

God knows what the tenders are going to come in at, but I wouldn't be surprised if they will be closer to £100m than £60m, unless the stadium specification has been significantly altered to trim costs.

But the caller who asked where the ticket office was so he could buy tickets for cash, nearly made me crash my car I was laughing so much. Was he the pantomine caller of last nights phone in ?
Are we REALLY so arrogant as to believe that EVERY potential new customer of the Club knows how to buy tickets for cash?

In some ways, this might have been the most important call of the afternoon. The sales department should be asking some serious questions about how they are failing to get the message across. Or, maybe, they could come up with easier ways for cash purchasers to buy tickets without having to trek into Brighton city centre every time they want to go to a game.

A very good point. The club should make it piss easy for punters to part with their cash.

I'm not disputing for a minute what he has done for this club and yes, he deserves legend status for that. However, over the past two seasons publicly he has come across very badly. Perhaps he isn't a very nice bloke (how many successful businessmen are?) or the pressure has affected him to the point of losing it with supporters and members of the press. Either way it doesn't help the current situation we are in.

Ok, I'm a mere girl so my opinion might not count for much here, but I think DK should be given some credit for even agreeing to be on the phone in last night. He said he knew he would be in for stick but he still made the effort. As Harty pointed out, Alex Ferguson won't even talk to the BBC after a game!

And then when he does come on, why not give the guy a chance to speak! What's the point in ringing in and telling Dick what HE is thinking or going to say, without giving HIM the chance to say it?!

I don't think DK did flounce off, he was still chatting to Harty, but Harty faded the mic out to go to the travel report.

He got frustrated with that Mark guy because he was just going on and on and on and not letting DK talk, and repeating stuff that had already been discussed earlier in the show, wasting valuable time!

It would be good also if DK will answer the NSC questions that they didn't get time to air last nght. And just a suggestion, but perhaps next time DK agrees to appear, it could be more of a one to one with Harty asking the questions that have been submitted previously? Harty is certainly no yes man, and as a fan himself would ensure DK doesn't get an easy ride on the more pertinent questions that the fans, including himself, need answering.

Be interested to hear Harty's view on how the show went too

If your son was fingered by the BBC for doing something that is not proved in a prime time TV show called Panorama I would expect you might do the same.

But that is what Dick Knight said. Talking to 5 players but expects to get a couple.
I seriously hope that the five players are also being pursued by other clubs.

If they are, then it's quite possible that we'll be unsuccessful in attracting ALL of them to join. This wouldn't mean that DK is useless.

If other clubs aren't interested, why are we?

I found the phone-in very depressing for two reasons: Firstly it once again proved what a load of brain-dead idiots a lot of Brighton fans are and secondly what an arrogant, self-obsessed & completely unable to handle criticism Chairman we seem to have these days.
Agree wholeheartedly with your first point, BUT given that he was faced with the same ridiculous questions several times over and someone who was calling him a liar I'm not surprised he got a bit pissed off. Wouldn't you? Might have been a bit better if the callers had been screened a bit to make sure they weren't going to simply ask the same questions again.

So if I started spouting half-truths, innuendo and lies about you on a regular basis (something Dick has had to put up with from many quarters - including fans - for the past ten years), wouldn't you get a bit fractious about it?

If I were DK, I'd buy a nice sunbed to make my skin lovely and orange, be seen with flash cars and slutty wimmins, and tell everyone to kiss my orange ass.

Can somebody answer a simple question (3 actaully) Why do we need to know what price the seats will be at Falmer? Why waste the limited time on the phione in with such trivialities? What was the point of going down that road?

Yes, but I'm not a football league chairman. His reactions have gone beyond a bit fractious for someone who is in a position of such responsibility. I'm not the only one who thinks this and we're not all in the Anti-Knight Brigade.
