Nonsense. That is not how to make the club sustainable.
Because the club clearly don’t know how to be sustainable. We let Ali Mac go for a fraction of his value and he left with our blessing and the majority here were pleased he got the move he wanted. He served us well, behaved well and was respectful. Pascal has been here far longer and done more than Ali Mac. There is not a single person (who matters) that will begrudge him this move. In fact, it seems only you in here want to make him suffer so the club can add to its already ridiculous profit margin. Give your head a wobble…

How soon is now?
I’m not suggesting we have a ready made replacement for Gross, we almost certainly don’t, but we do have a lot of central midfielders who can play in the 8 or 10 position that Hurzeler needs to have a look at. He may see, and get something out of a player that has previously not hit the expected heights

Nonsense. That is not how to make the club sustainable.

After seeing your posts across a number of threads I still can’t tell if you’re a troll or just an idiot.

A Brighton fan who misspells seagull just so he can fit the word eagle in to his username definitely feels like the former though.

Good time for him to leave with our utmost thanks for his service during our PL term, been an absolute legend on the pitch for us but looked like age was catching up with him at the tail end of last season not helped by RDZ playing for every minute in every game.
Probably in our top 3 signings of all time.

Ouch so back to square one in central midfield, more signings needed.

Is that the last Chris Hughton signing to leave the club?

I absolutely do not get this. Why would we out ourselves in a weaker position to potentially loose a critical player? Why do we not need to be in a strong position?
We are getting players in (as we speak) based on the idea that we can give them game time and opportunities for more money at bigger clubs down the track. This is our USP and it is what we can use to tempt players to the club in place of ridiculous wages.

If we do not honour this agreement with the players already a the club, new players will go somewhere else for the bigger wages.

It is the transfer window so we need to repeat this over and over.

End of an era! Best wishes Pascal, what an opportunity.

See you in the Champions League.

Sure. But I have no idea what this has to do with it.
Its a jokey comment because players often lose their pace in their mid thirties. Pascal never had any so he doesn't have any to lose. So age isn't terribly important in this sense.

Does this really need explaining?

A fabulous player and wonderful professional. It will take a lot to replace him but if he wants to head back to Germany than we wish him all the best.

At 33 with just 1 season left on his contract anything close to £8m is a good deal for us. Yes he could stay and add to the side for another year but we have other talents to throw in and develop.

Possibly out most important player signings ever

IF we get a price for him that allows us to replace him, yes he can go with our best wishes. That is a deal that is best for both.
This post misunderstands almost everything about Brighton. It, and the follow up are ignorance squared.

Firstly, Gross is our greatest ever bargain. To replace his assists you’d either have to find our greatest ever bargain again or spend about £40 million (which we won’t get). If you’re talking about literally replacing him, however, then we’ll be scouting a 33 year old with the pace of an elephant, yet the ability to conjure a goal from nowhere.

Secondly, you don’t become sustainable on a player by player basis. We can spend this window because we hit high profitability in two previous ones,
