Cool ceremony then half-empty stadiums and eerily quiet for three weeks of Olympics. Could always hope for the opposite here.
I couldn't get tickets for the Olympics. I went to the Paralympics and it was rammed. You're talking shit.

There was definitely early swimming events with few people.. not a big deal per se but made my 12 year younger self think "well if they don't give a shit, why would I?"

That's weird. I've never watched an Olympics and then stopped because there weren't enough people in the crowd.

All I managed to get in the ballot (which was massively oversubscribed) was some hockey….and that was a couple of lower-ranked non-medal games. It was rammed. The whole complex was rammed. Several mates were volunteers….it was the same throughout the games.

Here are some eerily quiet clips

I was lucky enough to get into the Velodrome for the Team Sprints - utterly epic and finished with a GB gold.

The whole park, and the Velodrome, was packed or at least so I thought.

Apparently though, some Swedish bloke read on the Internet that was all quiet so you, me and your mates must all have been wrong.

Need to stop having these massive European event during the monsoon season (also known as 'summer'). Should be outsourced.

Blimey, that was as dry as old twigs next to the London Ceremony. They should have Danny Boyled it.

I assume there’s more hoopla to come? That can’t be it, surely. Feels like it’s yet to start.
