It was f***ing rammed. All days, all events. Even the prawn sarnies not turning up did not suppress the attendance. In fact Glasgow & Birmingham exhibited the same trend in the CWG. These islands have many issues but we are are Sporting event lovers.

There was definitely early swimming events with few people.. not a big deal per se but made my 12 year younger self think "well if they don't give a shit, why would I?"

That's weird. I've never watched an Olympics and then stopped because there weren't enough people in the crowd.

All I managed to get in the ballot (which was massively oversubscribed) was some hockey….and that was a couple of lower-ranked non-medal games. It was rammed. The whole complex was rammed. Several mates were volunteers….it was the same throughout the games.

The whole park, and the Velodrome, was packed or at least so I thought.
