Bath, Somerset.
3 - Thin Lizzy, Hawkwind, and Nirvana.

Heard many of the other bands at the Hungry Years, though :rock:

Now, if there was a comparable list for Punk/Indie/Alternative, I could boast:

The Stranglers = 29
Killing Joke = 13
The Clash = 11
Psychedelic Furs =11 (one in Dublin)
Half Man Half Biscuit = 10
Wire = 9
Manic Street Preachers = 8
Suede = 6
The Chameleons = 5
Blancmange = 4
The Wedding Present = 4
Sparks = 3
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds = 3
Placebo = 3
Gang of Four = 3
Echo & The Bunnymen = 3 (one in New York)
Chumbawamba = 3
Sisters of Mercy = 3
Patti Smith = 2

17 (18 if you count Tom G Warrior & Triptykon playing a whole set of Celtic Frost songs at Bloodstock in 2023), but given I only started going to see heavier shows a decade ago in my early 20s, I'll take that, given there's more than a few that would have actively stopped playing before I was born. A few I will be ticking off later this year hopefully (Alice Cooper, Obituary at Bloodstock)

Not one of them.

And there’s only a few I’d like to have seen.

Queen
AC/DC
Led Zeppelin
Whitesnake
The Cult
Thin Lizzy
Pink Floyd
Nirvana
Pistols
Van Halen
Iron Maiden
Alice Cooper
Rainbow
Black Sabbath

The rest don’t do much for me. And of the above, there’s an even smaller number I’d actually part with serious money to see. Each to their own.

As Metallica poetically said "bang that head that doesnt bang"

You’ve seen The Stranglers 29 times? Wow! How many times with the original line up?

Think Fatboy is the act I’ve seen the most, not sure of the exact number but last time I tried to work it out there was over 20 times I could remember.

Seen Nick Cave at lot, also seen Damon Albarn in Blur, Gorillaz, solo, TGTBTQ and seen two of his operas.

Brovion

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Very very few. But why are bands like Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd in there?

About 18, I think. The original line-up was awful at the end - the last two albums, Dreamtime', and 'Ten', plus two consecutive cover-version singles which added nothing to the original versions, were embarrassing, and Hugh and JJ were hardly speaking by that stage.

Hated the bland Paul Roberts/John Ellis MKII version, but the most recent, with Baz Warne on guitar/vocals, is great; the 'bite' and snarl of the early Stranglers. The track 'Relentless' is one of the best things they've done, and compares very well to their early stuff.

Will see them for the 30th time in October!
