[Music] One for the headbangers……

See you at Bloodstock!
Hopefully in different circumstances than the last time we were both there - as I recall, catching up and discussing the ongoing Caicedo to Chelsea saga at the back of the SOPHIE tent while Brothers of Metal were on 😂

Yeah, that was the point I was making. I'm not a metal fan and the only 'headbanger' band I've seen on that list is Black Sabbath when I was an impressionable teenager. I don't know why bands like Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd are there - and if they're included why not an outfit like Blue Oyster Cult as you say. I've also seen Thin Lizzy and Lynyrd Skynyrd but I wouldn't particularly call them 'headbanger' bands either.

Oh, and Slade should be on there. Brilliant live band.
Agree about Slade. Saw them at the Brighton Centre (Quo Vardis in support who were shit). Problem with Slade's set was that the stage lighting failed so they did the gig with the house lights on. Does change the atmosphere somewhat!

Went to see Saxon midweek at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. Our school RE teacher was big into heavy metal. He borrowed the school minibus and took a group of us to the concert.
Goodness. My teacher took us to the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum.

6.

What a SHIT list… where are Wishbone Ash? Uriah Heep? Mountain? BOC?

Anyway, Dio remains the best gig I ever saw at Newcastle uni… not too many years before he left us… without doubt the best singer I’ve ever heard… Tarot Woman live was a near religious experience … and I think I saw a glimpse of heaven during the Gates of Babylon…

I was left with no voice for a week…

I think I briefly show up on a camera pan lol…

RIP Ronnie you absolute Star.

I was at that gig too! (For reasons too boring to go into I was actually a guest of Vardis). Considering the lights and the fact the place was almost empty they could have been forgiven for just going through the motions, but they put in a shift.
