Did anyone (Lord Bamber / Chimneys?) ever hear back from the club about running vests?

I still reckon they'd be popular. Runners would buy 'em in the correct size whilst if you brought an enormous one, they'd be like a BHA Basketball top!

Not even a "Thanks for your email" from the club shop! Pretty poor, but from what I've read from others, very predictable.

Guess you didnt have any joy either Lord B?

I don't run very often, or very far. But I do play rugby, so am reasonable fit and have relatively good upper body strength. I am going to try getting out and running with the aim of completing the Men's Health survival of the fittest event in October. It involves a 10k run with an obstacle after every kilometre. I know I have the strength for the obstacles, but not sure if I can run 10k, or whether I will be able to do the obstacles following the running.

Very jealous ... Mrs OnTheRun wants me to try for NYC at some point. Think she fancies a shopping expedition!

Go for it. NYC is one of the cheapest transatlantic flights at the moment and it's arguably the best marathon in the world...so many people have told me. How are you anyway? Are you still a man on the run?

That's a pity and a poor show not getting a reply. When I get a minute, I'll email them too - its probably worth one more try

I havent heard back - given other peoples feedback this is not a surprise. I am debating buying the errera one you kindly posted the link on page 33. I think the club are missing a trick, whilst the overall merchandise in the club shop is fantastic, there still is some dross. I would see running tops as being great for us and maybe being other peoples dross. Shame.

I have now got a place in the 2012 NYC marathon, and just been put through my paces by Fred at Run in Hove in the name of new shoes. Three times around the block and I ended up with some Brooks. I'm rather knackered now. Thanks for the Run tip...they're good.

Congrats!

On the marathon place that is not the three times round the block.

No poor & predictable. I googled running tops and the errera one mentioned in my other post looks to be the best option if we want to run in Albion colours. I must admit the more I cant have one the more I want one - much like a shag with Keira Knightly.

Just signed up for the Great South Run in October and looking forward to it.

Will make sure I am wearing a Brighton shirt of some sort even if it is not an official running vest! Agree with the above comments though, it seems a very good and logical idea that would sell well and mean a few more £££'s in the coffers.

Anyone else here planning on running it this year?

I'm good thanks Mate. Doing Brighton again this year, training started a week ago. Looking forward to it. A friend of mine did NYC last and said it was amazing. Had a look at the ballot entry form and it's very tempting ... Maybe 2013!

You lucky ------!!! Go for it. Fantastic weekend. It is the best. Look around for hotel deals as it is an expensive time of year but you should be ok. Have just started training for Brighton in April. Did my first half matahon training run listening to the Coventry match on New Years eve (Oh dear!). Good luck with it and keep an eye on the weather in NY nearer the time. It could be 5 or 25 degrees.

Very jealous ... Mrs OnTheRun wants me to try for NYC at some point. Think she fancies a shopping expedition!

Did that this year and would say that to finish in a decent time the ability to run 10k quick is more important that ability to get over obstacles (apart from the final "wall of fame" they are pretty easy).

Would you suggest its worth doing, for the amount of cash it costs compared to a normal 10K?

I'm now in Brighton Marathon on a REMF place.
Steyning first though, I guess.

I'm not doing 4 in4 this year!

Will almost certainly do three forts, and might throw in Halstead as well
