I have now got a place in the 2012 NYC marathon
Very jealous ... Mrs OnTheRun wants me to try for NYC at some point. Think she fancies a shopping expedition!

Did anyone (Lord Bamber / Chimneys?) ever hear back from the club about running vests?
I still reckon they'd be popular. Runners would buy 'em in the correct size whilst if you brought an enormous one, they'd be like a BHA Basketball top!

Not even a "Thanks for your email" from the club shop! Pretty poor, but from what I've read from others, very predictable.
Guess you didnt have any joy either Lord B?

I have now got a place in the 2012 NYC marathon, and just been put through my paces by Fred at Run in Hove in the name of new shoes. Three times around the block and I ended up with some Brooks. I'm rather knackered now. Thanks for the Run tip...they're good.

Go for it. NYC is one of the cheapest transatlantic flights at the moment and it's arguably the best marathon in the world...so many people have told me. How are you anyway? Are you still a man on the run?

I'm good thanks Mate. Doing Brighton again this year, training started a week ago. Looking forward to it. A friend of mine did NYC last and said it was amazing. Had a look at the ballot entry form and it's very tempting ... Maybe 2013!
I don't run very often, or very far. But I do play rugby, so am reasonable fit and have relatively good upper body strength. I am going to try getting out and running with the aim of completing the Men's Health survival of the fittest event in October. It involves a 10k run with an obstacle after every kilometre. I know I have the strength for the obstacles, but not sure if I can run 10k, or whether I will be able to do the obstacles following the running.
Did that this year and would say that to finish in a decent time the ability to run 10k quick is more important that ability to get over obstacles (apart from the final "wall of fame" they are pretty easy).
I'm now in Brighton Marathon on a REMF place.
Steyning first though, I guess.
I saw you'd taken the REMF place Bob, well done. Im doing Brighton, London, MK & North Dorset, four sundays, one after the other. Cant wait. Hope to remain injury free,
I'm not doing 4 in4 this year!
Will almost certainly do three forts, and might throw in Halstead as well
Three forts = Utmost respect from what I recall reading about it last year!
