Delighted to keep the big man away from me today although as you can see, very close! By my count there were just 2 seconds between our chip times at mile 8.

I don't really feel like there was too much left at the end and I misjudged where the finishing line was so I kicked far too soon and then was blowing heavily on the final dash to the line. I felt strong the whole way around, miles 7-10 into the wind were tough but I always felt fairly confident I was going at a pace I could manage and sustain. Going off ahead was a gamble which could have backfired and when an big nuts clone went past me between miles 5 and 6 (I think!), I thought I was in a lot of trouble. I'm a little bit gutted to run a mile over 7 minutes when all the others were below the magic number!
Blimey you were only 3 seconds ahead at mile 10. Final 5k was the difference in the end. It was a good battle from my perspective as you were generally always in my sights, for you less so as you probably didn't see me at any stage.
Officially 37 seconds between me and Ninja. No complaints I ran a decent race but the better man won.
I go again for the Brighton half in two weeks so I can beat his time there as long as they measure the course properly this time.
Would like to see the comparative splits as the gap barely moved throughout. I thought at 9.5 I was closing but his full head of hair bobbed away in the distance and I couldn’t close.

You’re going to make a lot of people who’ve trained very hard for the Brighton HM very upset when their big day is ruined by a giant furry seagull bolting off into the distance. I can’t wait to see it!
Hi guys,
I'm running the Brighton Half-Marathon on Sunday 25th. Coming down from Edinburgh for the weekend and really looking forward to it. I've had a look at the course and it looks reasonably flat, although I'm wondering if there is long slow incline up to St Dunstans? Presumably one of the major challenges will be the wind. Hoping for decent weather on the day and it being a bit warmer than it has been here recently!
Any other info gratefully received!
Cheers
