Only in this country!

Anywhere else in the world the old bill would have steamed in and cracked a few skulls and they would have been on there way in a couple of hours.

Er... there have been demonstrations in more than 950 cities worldwide. I think that only Athens and Rome have seen any sort of violence.

Its ok these professional protestors complaining about the banks, a fair target. Once people find out what they are in favour of rather than against sympathy will soon evaporate.

i am defending freedom of speech, and you know it.

is that a bit ironic considering you listen to a Russian media outlet that would rather talk about issues in other countries than focus on the issues in its own back yard, which lets face it russia has quite a bit of, but is more than likely to scared due to the consequences

The most amusing thing is when you see people protesting agaisnt the evil global corporations while on their iphones, drinking their starbucks coffees in their nike trainers.

Thats called SOCIALISM,often seen in Islington/Hampstead & Highgate, never quite made it to Edmonton or Kilburn, more of Tea and Go area !!

And out of those 950 cities how many of them have managed to shut down a major tourist attraction?

Can someone please explain to me what these people are actually trying to achieve?

They probably ignore Health and Safety advice, which is the reason it's closed.

It also gets no state support which I've always thought a bit odd, seeing that it's er.. St. Pauls.

Maybe they're complaining about the fact that St Paul's Cathedral is now seen by most people as a "tourist attraction"?

I don't believe that was its original purpose.

I think the origianl poster's post made iy quite clear - "... i see a point in the protest but businesses are starting to be very badly effected ............" made it quite clear - and facts point to it being very successful!

What by putting independent business out of pocket?

Good on them. If you think that the current system is working for 99% of people then you are seriously deluded.

The gap between the rich and poor is growing, the governments governs for rich lobby groups and big business and not the people they are supposed to represent.

There are people out there trying to do something about this situation for all of us and they have my full support.
