Apparently, you have the memory banks of an amoeba - or perhaps you only 'supported' Brighton for the last two seasons??

20+ years actually..and I stand by my comment.

They cost exactly the same as any other player.

Can you explain that? How much is exactly the same? If a player is that good then other clubs will also notice it and there is competition for them.

They cost exactly the same as any other player. I'm not saying we need to sign a higher standard of player, we need to sign a different TYPE of footballer. Our passing is shit, we are ponderous, we have no creativity. Above all, for all the pace our midfield has, we may as well play statues. I'm realistic enough to know we can't sign players on big deals, but we could at least inject a bit of skill and pace in the side.

I think that it's fair to say that we never really replaced Darren Currie when he left.

:nono:

We only just got round to signing a rightback this season after playing to midfielders there for two seasons (Hart & Reid)!!!!

That's true - but at least we get there in the end.

When did I say they were good? I said different TYPES of player. Emphasis on TYPE. I don't expect us to go and sign players from higher divisions on massive wages, but some players who are capable of producing some flair at OUR level would suffice. Currie, Brooker, Hart at his peak - that's the sort of player we need. Someone who can run at players and put a cross in. All we have now are workers, and that's not going to break any team down.

Dean Cox, when he first broke into the team at Rotherham, ran at players and put crosses in all the time.
Why doesn't he do that now?

I fear it's been trained out of him. His confidence does appear to have taken a knock this season.

He's young!

We are asking players to do to much at the very begining of their careers, they are not able to put in consitent performances over a season.

You are judging it on one game?

Ah I see, I guess that would be McGhee would it?

Several months not one game, why should I be a McGhee apologist all the time. Does it suit your purpose to label me such?
