For FUXSAKE o'callaghan is JUST ANOTHER AVERAGE (or below) PLAYER!

JUST like BERTIN, we are NOT DEPENDANT ON ANY PLAYER FOR THE ALBION TO MOVE ON IN THE SPORT.

For Jesus H Christ's sake, after years are barely making it, goal diff v Hereford, seasons at Gillingham, relegations and promotions - and some of you CRY AND WAIL LIKE OLD WIMMIN because ONE .....POXY and journeyman player has sulked off - AND HE WASN'T EVEN ON OUR BOOKS.

get f***ing REAL.

Thank goodness, therefore, for the loyalty that players like Mayo and Hart have shown the club over the years. They may be absolute crap but at least they are loyal.

I cannot honestly think of one moment when O'Callaghan's play excited me.

He was a good player at our level and will leave a large hole to fill, unless Reid suddenly recaptures match fitness and the form of two seasons ago.

Regarding his comments, he probably new there never going to be a realistic offer to him and as it was nealy his last game and the whole Bas gate thing going off maybe he thought sod it I'll just say it as I see it.

Exactly, Zebedee. I'd rather have a team full of O'Callaghan's who have some talent, flair, and ability to excite the crowds over a team full of Mayo's and El Abd's who will be loyal for years (because the rest of the football world is too busy laughing at us for employing them) but couldn't do flair if it hit them on the head.

Someone agrees with me. That's a first.

BUT HE DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY FOR THE CLUB.

What should we have done? Kidnapped him?

Maybe not but it was enough for me that he held together our midfield together, directed play and sprayed the ball around the park with consummate ease. I would gladly have foregone any desire for excitement if we could have extended George's loan until the end of the season.

O'C was often half-hearted,
That's what I noticed more. He was good at passing sideways and backwards.
I know a lot of people like that sort of play but I didn't.

Apparently, you have the memory banks of an amoeba - or perhaps you only 'supported' Brighton for the last two seasons??

Those two players were integral to our winning TWO divisions on the trot, as CHAMPIONS. I would like every supporter who remembers those two CONVINCING Championship seasons to read your incredibly wise and thoughtful remarks. ( :nono: )

Please follow another team, I hear Man United play in RED and everything, and they win loads of games with dandy players, and they NEED fans JUST like you.

It doesn't even need to be him in particular. We have just had a policy for far too long of rewarding mediocrity and keeping shit players out of loyalty. I don't care if O'Callaghan doesn't want to play for us, there will be more out there like him. We need to sign some FOOTBALLERS rather than WORKERS.

They cost money that we don't have.

Funny? I heard it said, that BERTIN did that same thing, that "we didn't have before".

Well that's used up the ONLY TWO players in the WHOLE WORLD with that capability, now. Oh what shall we DO?

:shootself:

maybe just maybe george was the player we needed that did what bertin did, BUT ONLY BETTER!
