Mayo, loft and hart would struggle to get into Crawleys team.Bet when all 3 leave at the end of the season not 1 signs for a league club and all 3 end in nonleague

I think that's true about Loft, but not so about Mayo and Hart. Fatty fraudster (can't remember their managers name), would bite our hands off if we offered him those two.

Those who are moaning that the board are too tight to pay the wages, answer me this.

How do you know that what O'Callaghan is demanding is reasonable? What if he, as a Championship fringe player with comparatively little Football League experience, is asking for five grand a week, for example? Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Are you suggesting that the club should just pay up, for the sake of signing a new player? What if he turns out to be crap, I bet you'll be the first ones complaining about that overpaid crock of shite in midfield.

The club has to pay what they think is fair, and bears some resemblance to the going rate, not just jump at the first demand made by any journeyman. It's called negotiation, guys, and I don't blame Wendy or the board for refusing to pay if they don't think the player is worth it.

Paul Kitson, anyone?

I believe i made this point on about page 2 !!

Just coz we agreed a fee, does that mean we have to bow down to whatever demands he has

We're better off using the £75k to knock £3 off a thousand 'golden' matchday tickets for the remainder of the season if we can't sign anyone for a fee.

Do it DK - forget which pot you allocated it to pre-season. If it's not going to be used in 1 budget then use it to supplement another which badly needs it. I as a STH would support that

I, as a STH, wouldn't... we need to invest in the team, or results and attendances will continue their downward trend...

I'd imagine that there is still a slim chance him coming then, but if he has already turned us down once?

Maybe a loan with a look to a permanent move perhaps?

Maybe we will up our offer or maybe it was not a money problem but length of contract

I imagine the talks are something along the lines of...

"So - have you had a better offer yet?"

"Nah"

"Righty-O. We'll call again tomorrow."

How dare this guy try to get a better deal for himself? Is the NSC rule not that once somebody turns down our first offer he can 'f*** right off'? Or is that only if he's french?

We are all just pissing in the wind. Is the player being unreasonable with his demands ? Is his agent taking the piss ? Is he after a signing on fee ? Has O\'Callaghan taken one look at Withers and gone \"oooo....errrr....\" ? Is he not keen on the kit ? Is Dick being too TIGHT ?

Why don;t we just wait till 00.01am on September 1st before we start berating the club for signing absolutely no-one again. It;ll save TIME.
