I went there for the first time the other week, having been warned it was pretty horrible. It was so much worse than that. I have never seen such a depressing place in my life.

Bedford had a Man U supporters shop in the high street

aside from all the obvious choices(swindon, reading, sunderland etc.) i'm plumping for my most DISAPPOINTING city, which was nice....

in theory it should've been a nice experience.........but it was jam packed full of rude, arrogant wankstains(a much higher density than paris) who, as soon as they cottoned on to the fact that i was english(and yes, i was speaking french to them) treated me like something they'd just shat on

my vote goes for NICE

Yes, I hated Nice too, having been there for a week's holiday two years ago.

Place is totally overrated, and symbolises 'faded grandeur'.

Area around the station is full of dodgy people and cafes, and the 'famous' Corniche Anglais, where our apartment was located, was full of prozzies plying their trade 24 hours a day.

Found the whole place shabby and sleazy.

Along with the Man U supporters shop the residents of Bedford were prone to reffering to themselves as being from north London, even the ones who weren't familiar with Alan Aykebourne's 'Confusions'*

*strictly speaking that was Luton of course but the principle is the same
