I love the way people presume everyone at Amex works in a call centre! My friend doesn't, but does work for Amex, is pretty familiar with the deals that Amex have done with BHA previously & is under the impression the talks about the shirt sponsorship deal have ceased before a deal was reached, I do hope he is incorrect as I think it would be great for the club.

I work at Amex and worked out we were negotiating sponsoriship of the stadium about 18 months before the announcement was made official. It was during an Ad Hoc town hall meeting and there was mention of a meeting with Dick Knight that afternoon . At the time there was absolutly no link between Dick Knight and Amex .After mopping up the coffee I had spat out all over the floor , I cornered the then Amex VP , now executive Albion board member. I asked him about his reference to Dick Knight and concluded we must be looking at a partnership with the Albion , possibly stadium sponsorship. He must have had what I had , because we both spent the next 5 minutes mopping up his coffee from my shirt. Basically what he said at the time was , he would not confirm or deny sponsorship of the stadium but he catagorically confirmed Amex would never sponsor the shirt.
I have always remembered that conversation and never considered Amex would ever be the shirt sponsor. However things do change . We were in League 1 at the time ,Mickey Adams had just been sacked and Russell Slade had been announced as the new manager .We were sliding very fast towards League 2. I know Amex are pleasantly pleased with the success of the stadium partnership thus far, especially the community aspect , so it's possible , but unlikely .

Orient were sponsored by a betting firm last season. But this season they're sponsored by FIFA 13- how cool can you get
