This.

And Championship shirt sponsorship deals are not £m per annum, unless it is FFP jiggery pokery as at Cardiff or Leicester.

I love the way people presume everyone at Amex works in a call centre! My friend doesn't, but does work for Amex, is pretty familiar with the deals that Amex have done with BHA previously & is under the impression the talks about the shirt sponsorship deal have ceased before a deal was reached, I do hope he is incorrect as I think it would be great for the club.

Yes.

Brighton and Hove Jobs, seems naff.

And takes up half the shirt, or it seems like it, covering or distracting from the glorious stripes.

You are one touchy mutha.

Just the sponsor who will give us the most money please

There are clubs running around the various levels of English football sponsored by Cash Converters, Wonga and such shoddy payday loan enterprises. Liverpool are sponsored by a bank labelled "a rogue institution" by US financial regulators. There are five current Premier League teams sponsored by betting companies or casinos, along with a fair few more in the Football League I think.

And people worry about Brighton & Hove Jobs?

The new Amex Sponsors' Lounge in the south stand is nicer than the Boardroom. Clearly a sign that they are stepping up their involvement so expanding into shirt sponsorship would make sense

I work at Amex and worked out we were negotiating sponsoriship of the stadium about 18 months before the announcement was made official. It was during an Ad Hoc town hall meeting and there was mention of a meeting with Dick Knight that afternoon . At the time there was absolutly no link between Dick Knight and Amex .After mopping up the coffee I had spat out all over the floor , I cornered the then Amex VP , now executive Albion board member. I asked him about his reference to Dick Knight and concluded we must be looking at a partnership with the Albion , possibly stadium sponsorship. He must have had what I had , because we both spent the next 5 minutes mopping up his coffee from my shirt. Basically what he said at the time was , he would not confirm or deny sponsorship of the stadium but he catagorically confirmed Amex would never sponsor the shirt.
I have always remembered that conversation and never considered Amex would ever be the shirt sponsor. However things do change . We were in League 1 at the time ,Mickey Adams had just been sacked and Russell Slade had been announced as the new manager .We were sliding very fast towards League 2. I know Amex are pleasantly pleased with the success of the stadium partnership thus far, especially the community aspect , so it's possible , but unlikely .

Here, there and everywhere
The sponsor next season either begins with a vowel or an M next year. Said it in another thread weeks ago. Make of that what you will

Michelin? Mercedes? Michael Owen?

Orient were sponsored by a betting firm last season. But this season they're sponsored by FIFA 13- how cool can you get
