Jesus. There’s some right miseries on this thread.
Uh - that was supposed to be a tongue in cheek post that making New Year’s resolutions always ended badly for me because I made them while pissed.

My post ended with a Happy New Year.

(Perfectly happy thank you.)

We are going to the local where we will have a meal, see the band till 9pm and then karaoke till midnight.
The usual huggng etc. and then off to a mates basement bar for extras, don't know what time it will all end.
Last time it was 6am !

The arse end of Hangleton
Meal with a few friends in a couple of hours and then back to our hotel balcony to watch the fireworks across the bay with a bottle of Indian fizz ..... if we stay awake.

I'm going to a mate's for an evening that is billed to last from 6.30 to 9.30pm. For once, there'll be another Fulham fan there (2 others if I count the Rangers fan I've started taking who now refers to Fulham as 'we' ) so I won't be outnumbered by you lot! I hope to get suitably squiffy to enjoy a spot of Hootenanny but not so pissed to prevent me going for a surf tomorrow.

Happy New Year to everyone on NSC! 🥂🍾🍺🍸

Fever in the family, just a quiet night at home. Not a great fan of big new years parties so that’s alright. A couple of beers and some cava will do.

Some angst about tomorrow though, weigh in at another thread here…

Happy New Year all!

I am one of the miserable gits on here. I hate NYE and always have done. I shall leave the rest of the family, and whoever else turns up, and go to bed and read my kindle. Got to drive tomorrow morning anyway, so very little or no booze will be taken by me.
Anyway,to all those who enjoy the ghastly experience, have a good one.😁😉👍

Isn't NYE for those who wanna spend lots of extra money for the same night they could have any other night?
In my late teens early 20s (I am 72)
NYE meant pub crawls, meeting people you hadn´t seen all year and a general feel good night. I remember staggering home wishing everyone a Happy New Year. I remember going to pubs that I had never been to and being made welcome.
Who f**ked it up since then?

Christ there's some miserable old bastards on here🤣

Jesus. There’s some right miseries on this thread.

Lol.

NSC had a thread being sympathetic to anyone who gets depressed at Christmas.

Anyone who dares to be depressed every NYE just gets labelled "miserable".

It is the worst night of the year. Businesses ripping everyone off. Aggressive goons at every corner. 'Celebrating' more sand trickling through the hourglass of mortality.

Can't wait until it's over. Lol.

Epic NYE, people going absolutely bonkers all over the world for it. Vietnam and Thailand the latest to be gripped by NYE fever. Loving it.

Failed miserably with my powernap and might have to resort to hard drugs (it is what it is, like Potter says) if all the plans of the night are to go through... especially the rave I'm supposed to be at 03... not awfully tempting.

First going to a party in two hours though and I have vodka, beer and hashish so I could se myself being quite dead by midnight, nevermind 03.

Tomorrow I will once again notice that I'm 35 and not 25.
