I was at the same party as Elon musk and leo in Miami a few weeks ago during 'art basel'. That's about as close as I get to that story. Was tempted by St Barth's and Punta Del Este for nye but couldn't be bothered in the end and just having a humble meal at Zuma tomorrow night !
Glorious 😁

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
I'll be in bed and hopefully sleep through it - unless the local artillery lays a barrage too close for comfort.

Can anyone explain to me wtf we have to celebrate ? (nothing to do with football!)
It’s a time to reflect on the past year, plan for the next
.and get shitted with your mates. Seems fine to me.

It’s just another night followed by just another day - as previously stated, the rest is all bollocks

Isn't NYE for those who wanna spend lots of extra money for the same night they could have any other night?
Yes, with the added attraction of being in a pub with a TV and due to the modern digital delay knowing you've actually missed New Year from the sound outside.

Hope it absolutely pisses down and everyone gets soaked. Too many wĂ nkers out on the sniff and hopefully their night is ruined.
Happy new year to you as well :lolol:

Not a huge fan of NYE. Could count on one hand the amount of decent NYE nights I’ve had in 49 years

But it was a dreadful year for the family regarding death, a confirmed cancer and at least 1 (maybe 2) cancer scares, so when a suggestion to go to Paris for NYE was presented, I put it in the f*ck-it bucket and here we are, looking forwards to the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es tonight.

Had a ‘planes, trains and automobiles’ nightmare getting here but hoping to round off a difficult year on a positive note.
See you soon x

Have not really ‘celebrated’ this for years now. What’s the point? Same shit happening the next day.

And I feel it even more so this year. The world is in a right mess. Nobody wants to get a grip on the climate. War everywhere. The rise of unchecked populism by a nihilistic public too anesthetized to wake up and smell the signs that rich people are leading them on!

Rant rant rant.

It’s all shit.

Happy New Year all.

My wife will have to leave the house about 4am to go work at the hospital. So I'll be tucked up well before midnight, after a couple chill beers and a curry. Probably wake up to watch some fireworks from our roof terrace around midnight and feed the baby. Don't feel like I'm missimg out on a thing.

Planning for the next while you are utterly shltfaced, late at night and out at a noisy party/club with your mates? - Oh yep did that many NYEs in my younger days.

’Reflection‘ made us nostalgic or just bloody relieved the past year was over and all ‘best laid plans’ made on NYE lasted until about 3pm on NY Day.

It got to a point where I stopped believing that laying plans and reflection was an activity best done on NYE and many of the “auld acquaintances’ I had promised on NYEs over the years, that would never “be forgot”, turned out to be tw@ts and gladly forgotten, whereas family and true friends didn’t need the annual reminder and ‘planning’ was better done sober and in the cold light of day when one’s targets and objectives for the next 364/5/6 days were more realistic!

Now NYE is a day like any other and New Year’s Day just a welcome extension to the Christmas holiday before heading back to work.

But HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone whether you are ‘celebrating‘ it or not đŸ·đŸ’„đŸŽ‰
