I'll go against the flow here and say I'm glad they're trying to do something to address this issue, even if this particular piece of legislation may be due to fail or be ineffective.
It cannot be healthy the amount of porn available to children - all we really had when I was a child was penthouse and razzle and the like with pictures of naked women. Today's children are growing up in a world where they are taught that anal sex is normal and expected, and girls are essentially there to service men, to give pleasure and to moan a lot. Its not what sex really is about or should be about and I'm sure this explosion of porn is badly affecting what boys expect from girls and what girls think they should do to boys.
That's all based on the assumption that women don't enjoy porn too and that's it's all driven by men.
Very outdated and sexist view that one.

Females ejaculating? Oh we certainly don't want that to happen or encorage/educated the kids (big kids and young kids) watching now do we hahaha. As for the rest it's hardly murder porn is it
No, that's not my point at all. This isn't about women enjoying porn, this is about children's expectations being shaped by porn
That's not the fault of porn. That's the fault of the parents.
No place for Government interference in peoples lives.
Exactly. I am socially liberal but the statement that there is 'no place for government in people's lives' is just a silly shallow slogan. Of course there is a need to protect children, and there is plenty of evidence that young children are regularly accessing hard core porn and this has effects. I do not want 10 year old boys growing up thinking violent anal sex is normal (and that girls want and enjoy it). I am afraid the 'rights' of those of us adults that enjoy a bit of this sort of thing (and don't want to admit it to our other halves) come second by a distance too great to measure. What to do about it is obviously very difficult. I guess my thinking is along the lines of what already happens with alcohol and tobacco. And what should happen with drugs. Legal (within some obvious limits) but restricted and managed access. Combined with increasing levels of education - especially targeted at children. There is never a single simple solution. I agree also that the creation of a .xxx domain could have been helpful.Well, that's a particularly alt_right approach, has some merits in theory but history has taught us that children need protecting from bad parents, bad teachers and so on
For those of us of a certain age, Parade, and Health & Efficiency seem a long, long time ago.
Phew. I'm glad dwarfs and fur aren't mentioned!
You've still got all my DVD's on those subjects you SICKO!!!!!

It's a Libertarian position.
I don't believe alt-right would share the Libertarians views on gay marriage equality and legalisation of certain drugs, do you?
Children need protection from being abused. Casually seeing porn does is not abuse. Its in the same category as a parent letting their kids watch violent movies or play violent video games.
You might not like it, but it's none of yours or the Governments business.

Yes it's abuse. Exposure does real harm
It often happens out of the home - so may have nothing to do with parents
What kind of society would be if we think that young children viewing hard core, often violent, pornography is not our collective business?
How pathetic must we be as adults if we think that our desire to have easy access to such material is more important than the well being of our chiilfdren?
You really are a fool aren't you
