If some people want to get home within a reasonably normal amount of time they have to leave a few minutes early or stay and wait around for 30 mins until the train queues clear up. I have only left early once and I regretted it, walking away still hearing the noise from the crowd inside the stand just felt wrong. Now I just stay, clap the players off and get a beer to nurse for 20 mins or so until the main scrum at the station has cleared.

It's no effort at all. Read my post again. I don't understand why they would want to do it, but completely accept that they have a right to do so. What I do object to is them getting up to leave and NOT going!

Got me thinking: At the Goldstone, I used to always leave my place in the North Stand (left hand side, halfway between goal and corner flag, 2nd barrier from the front) about five minutes before the end. Used to then loiter on the topmost area by the exit til the final whistle then make a bee-line down the stairs and out and away across Hove Park. Christ knows why, must have saved me all of about three and a half minutes getting away, and I only had to walk home anyway. But seemed to make sense at the time

I agree and it annoys me no end.

However, cant help but feel that quicker service at the refreshments and sorting out the transport queues will at least reduce this.

We queued for an hour and a half to get there yesterday...

I just think people can do what they want as long as they show respect to others. And as far as where I am in the north, those leaving early always have.

I know this has been covered many times before BUT I do wish people would stay in their seats.

In the East Upper from the 34th Minute people were going out for half time.

and leaving from, 80 onwards...

Now I know that you can leave as and when you want but please think of the others around you, stopping on your way out to watch any action is not appreciated by people you are in front of.

One rather rotund chap leaves every game ( yes I am sad and have been timing him) on the 34th minute and does not return until 54th minute.strange thing is he leaves his kid sitting alone in the seats.

Now I know it is your money that you are wasting but why bother coming ??
Stay in the pub and listen on the radio.

Stewards were good last night, one drunk chap was walking up the steps by the seats with a pint in each hand...I watched incase it kicked off but the young steward was firm and polite and the drunk chap was turned around and escorted back to the concourse.

reference the people leaving early why cant all seats have a restraint like a theme park ride that is only released on 90 mins? that would stop em!!! ( oh that's a joke BTW_
I know its his

If the rotund chap is the one I am thinking of, in row b c section, then you should be grateful he is gone for about quarter of the match, at least you would be if you sat behind him.

Just checking that's not a complete exaggeration?

Each row typically has c28 seats between gangways. Logically halfish will head one way and the same the other. Therefore max say 15 people going past you. Hardly dozens and unlikely all 15 would leave before end.

Perhaps some of you complaining ought not to have bagged seats by/near the gangways, so you can make swift exits any time you like, and then judge others!

I sit in the middle of a row and virtually no-one ever passes me. And yes, I normally stay until 90 mins, albeit having finally been served at half time, (having waited for the half time whistle to join queue), its often into the second half before I have finished my pint. Dont have one you will say. The club serve it so why shouldnt I?!

AND STOP BLOODY MOANING!!

Ok, here are the facts as I recall them:
- 4 people walked past me to get to their seats after the game had started (4)
- 1 person walked past me twice (out and back) presumably to take a piss half way through the first half (2)
- 5 people walked past me shortly before ht (5)
- 6 people were late returning to their seats after ht (6)
- 2 more out and back for a piss during the second half (4)
- 4 left before the final whistle (4)

So that's 25. More than two dozen so "dozens" applies ...

Well now. I left on 80 minutes last night for the first time ever. Why? Because I had my girlfriend with me who is 6 months pregnant and we couldn't have her rammed in to a packed train.

Is that ok with you? Just asking obviously because I know how much it upsets you. You but not the rest of the WSL block where we sit!!

My daughter is also pregnant, its not an illness I am sure that many people would have given up a seat on the train for a pregnant lady., so dont come over all drama queen please.

Thats the one.....just tell him pies are on offer from the 20th minute....he might go then and you might get a clear view..

I am lucky that I am in the same row so just feel and hear the strain on the seat after every exuberant celebration. If I was behind him, I would be seriously pissed off. He stands up and yells, funny but inane(i.e the laugh is at him) bollocks for a minute at a time at random moments during the game. Then he leaves his poor kid for for 30-40 minutes during the game.

I dont leave early but having a few beers and a pie is what going to the match is all about! If YOU don't like that then YOU stay at home and watch it on the telly! Morons.

And there was me thinking it was about watching the football. What have I been missing all these years?
If I do have to leave early then I wait for a break in play - like last night when two of our players got hurt deep into injury time. It's just about having a bit of respect for other people. You don't know people's personal reasons for leaving early and they certainly should not have to justify their actions to others, provided they don't inconvenience them.

I think it's pretty shitty for the players, especially when they have just belted the massive Sheff Weds :)lol:) and half of the fans have evacuated instead of clapping the players off.
Exactly. For many people it seems that being first on the bus or train is more important than showing their appreciation for a great team performance.

You obviously could care less otherwise you wouldn't have replied (just so you know I'm going to have a Chinese tonight and watch X Factor.........although I might go for a piss half way through if that's ok with you)

And congrats on identifying that pregnancy isn't illness, and by all means cram your daughter in to which ever crowded space you fancy but for me and as a protective man I prefer to take my Mrs home without a rush and any crowding and as it was a one off I didn't mind leaving early as she was also quite tired.

It's why whenever me and my Dad go to a game, we always book aisle seats. Slightly more space and our game's not spoilt by people moving around (same goes the other way round - other people aren't affected so much if I need a pee or want to leave early.)
