By the seaside in West Somerset
For the Cardiff game my wife was worried about the crowds walking down to the station so we went after 85 minutes and caught the final whistle through the open exit doors to the northeast corner. My wife is disabled and at the pace we walk down to Bridge car park we were soon overtaken and engulfed in the crowds.

This time we waited for the final whistle and went and bought drinks and pies for the journey before walking down............ we got away onto the A27 at the same time (and if some arse hadn't decided to cone off half the westbound carriageway the whole experience would have been brilliant)

Fans pay their money, they can do what they like with their time.

Spectators leave early, fans stay and applaud their team.

I understand why people leave early, especially if they are training it with some way to go, or have a good reason for saving 45 minutes on the P&R experience. Unfortunately our transport infrastructure just isn't geared for speedy getaways, and there are some days when time is precious, whether it's because you have a young child with you, have to get up early the next day, whatever.

I've done it myself (very rarely) and probably will again, so it's not a case of having a go at anyone.

It's just on a more general level, it is a crying shame on a night like yesterday that the team, after such a brilliant display, instead of being hailed by 25,000 at the final whistle by a delighted and still packed stadium, are cheered off by around a third of the crowd.

We still haven't got there yet on the transport, the best guide is fan behaviour, and that is speaking volumes.

Those cones were unbelievable, slowed the traffic to a standstill. Biggest crowd for 29 years - let's half the capacity of the A27 between Falmer and Brighton. It was clogging up sliproads and roundabouts as well as the main road. F*ckwits.

I know this has been covered many times before BUT I do wish people would stay in their seats.

In the East Upper from the 34th Minute people were going out for half time.

and leaving from, 80 onwards...

Now I know that you can leave as and when you want but please think of the others around you, stopping on your way out to watch any action is not appreciated by people you are in front of.

One rather rotund chap leaves every game ( yes I am sad and have been timing him) on the 34th minute and does not return until 54th minute.strange thing is he leaves his kid sitting alone in the seats.

Now I know it is your money that you are wasting but why bother coming ??
Stay in the pub and listen on the radio.

Stewards were good last night, one drunk chap was walking up the steps by the seats with a pint in each hand...I watched incase it kicked off but the young steward was firm and polite and the drunk chap was turned around and escorted back to the concourse.

reference the people leaving early why cant all seats have a restraint like a theme park ride that is only released on 90 mins? that would stop em!!! ( oh that's a joke BTW_
I know its his

I was going to completely lambaste you in the time old traditional NSC (thick wankers) way. But actually to be fair, the early uppers piss me off to and I will share your sentiments.

Never really been bothered about people leaving early....it would offend me as a player though, if i can be bothered to go round to each side of the ground at the final whistle to clap my fans (CMS). It would be nice if there were a few faces to clap to rather than backs of heads.

I tend to hang around after the game in the concourse for 2 reasons
1)I prefer to wait and have a pint while the 'Q's die down and then take a stroll to the station and jump on the train without having to wait.
2) As CMS has said he plays every game like his last, I tend to agree and treat every game as if it's my last visit and I like to savour and enjoy every match day....you never know what's going to happen

I agree and that's exactly how I see it. But the moaning about people drinking beer and eating pies is just bloody daft and makes this thread the moany moaners thread.

Ok, here are the facts as I recall them:
- 4 people walked past me to get to their seats after the game had started (4)
- 1 person walked past me twice (out and back) presumably to take a piss half way through the first half (2)
- 5 people walked past me shortly before ht (5)
- 6 people were late returning to their seats after ht (6)
- 2 more out and back for a piss during the second half (4)
- 4 left before the final whistle (4)

So that's 25. More than two dozen so "dozens" applies ...

Fair enough (although technically not dozens of people but the same few coming and going)!

You must be by a gangway (or close to) for the reasons out in my original post. Simple answer is to apply to club to transfer to middle of row away from gangways if it bothers you that much! As I said I sit in middle of row and virtually never get passed.

Or do you like the convenience of a late arrival/quick getaway/loo break/beer when you feel like it, whilst others shouldnt?!

I think it's pretty shitty for the players, especially when they have just belted the massive Sheff Weds :)lol:) and half of the fans have evacuated instead of clapping the players off.

Agreed. I know players get paid well etc but sometimes, for some performances they deserve us staying in our seats til the end and giving them a proper round of applause at the end.

It's why whenever me and my Dad go to a game, we always book aisle seats. Slightly more space and our game's not spoilt by people moving around (same goes the other way round - other people aren't affected so much if I need a pee or want to leave early.)

Perfect solution, but..............unfortunately we cant all get aisle seats, particularly STH's who have permanent seats!

People leaving early at the end doesn't really worry me - if I need to be somewhere else I might do it, if I'm not in a rush I don't...

However, I think people leaving 10 minutes before the end of the first half is thoroughly one of the most moronic spectacles I have ever witnessed. I really want to know the thought process that thinks it's a good idea to miss 10 (20 if they come back late as well) minutes of expensive football just to then pay over the odds for a beer that you have to throw down. There is so many opportunities to have a pint, I just can't understand why you'd be that desperate for one in a short 15 minute interval. The mind boggles.

As this is a complaints thread my only complaint from the North Stand is kids standing on seats. One in particular is taller than his old man lol and almost blocks the view of the goal from where I stand, god knows how it effects the feller in the seat behind him.

Yeah, kids should learn the hard way - when you're young you have to peer up and around the person in front, it's just one of those things. Nowadays though parents believe their children can do whatever they want as long as they're happy!

There is a chap who sits in front of me that leaves at about 85 mins every game, presumably because he cannot last an extra five mins without being inebriated, but what annoys me about it is that I always see him in the concourse about 40 minutes after the match. I can vaguely understand leaving if you have to get a train back somewhere far away midweek. But, surely if hes going to stick around on the concourse for another hour cant he just stay in his seat for ten more minutes!

Please could you point out the rule or law that says he's not allowed to do this or explain how this affects your life?

Have you ever thought of getting employment as one of the increasing number of professional stattos who attend football matches? You know, the guys who will tell us that Liam Bridcutt has made 2,658 passes in his entire career and 76.4 per cent of them have found their target.
