so obviously if someone offered you £600 for £300 you would turn them down wouldn't ya.

Nice one.

So who exactly is going to give you £600 for this phone you can't use?

I've trawled through eBay for you, they're going for about £300 - £400. Now if you were to flog yours, which you say cost you £300, and made a tidy profit of £100 then fair play to you. But is that your plan? Only earlier this morning you were dead pleased with yourself that you'd picked up a bit of gadgetry you, mistakenly, assumed everyone on this board and presumably elsewhere in the real world would be entirely impressed by.

I'm sure the iPhone will one day be a very handy gadget, but it doesn't do ANYTHING at the moment that you can't already do cheaper and better with other devices.

Seriously Dwayne, you've made yourself look a total tool. So please enlighten us all. Is your plan to unlock this device, flash it to your mates and feel smug whilst still carrying a Nokia in your pocket OR are you going to sell it for double your money somehow to then brag at us all how you managed to pick it up cheap in the first place?

I used to feel sorry for you but you really don't do yourself any favours do you? How old are you exactly?

I think you're a complete twat by the way. Please don't send your 7ft musclebound dead black sister round to sort me out though will you?

Someones already cracked the AT&T activation bollocks that apple had put on it so I would imagine there is someone well on thier way to an unlocker too. Either way with the AT&T activation cracked it is a f***ing cool ipod regardless of phone functionality.

So you'd pay £400 for an iPod with as much storage as a Nano (RRP £134) and is 3 times the size?

Oh well, maybe I just don't live in the same world as some of you people. I still think £50 is a lot of money for a shirt

Regardless of phone functionality? It is a phone, it's being sold as a phone, therefore I'd say that functionality of it is rather important. The iPod already exists, you can buy a 30GB model (i.e. almost four times the capacity of the top end iPhone) for half the price of an iPhone. Whatever way you look at it, £300 for an iPod which incorporates a broken telephone is not good value for money.

look at the completed sale prices - average £450 (not £600, fair enough). That means I could make a profit of 50% just sitting on my arse - does that make me a fool? - I think not, I actually think that makes me bloody smart!

but I'm not selling it, I've taken the risk that it will be unlocked in the near future. Again, hardly a big risk, I know that I can sell it for at least what I bought it for.

I don't give a shit that it doesnt have 3g doesnt have a 5MP super lensed camera ete etc geek etc. I just like the way it looks and I think its a pretty cool gadget.

This is all very basic stuff. If you want it explained sllllowwwwly let me know

x

That may be true Grendel, but I think you are discounting the new WAP-WiJi function on these iPhones that will enable Dwayne to converse with his dead sister. Once his talktime with the spirit world is loaded up, like.

I know I have a 30Gb ipod and have absolutely no intention of getting an iphone even when it does work as a phone over here, I'm a smartphone/windows mobile man through and through but no one can deny the iphone is well cool.

I'm more excited by the new Sony Ericsson W960i which has all the features of the iphone plus a far far better camera, Symbian OS and a keypad as well as touch screen. Now that is a top bollocks phone when it is released at the end of the year.

I know exactly what it does. I'd even consider getting one in future once its had the bugs ironed out, is proven to be capable of doing what I want and has come down in price.

My point is why are you boasting about something that nobody else is particularly impressed by, only to then change your tact and suggest you are the wise man for picking up a bargain.

Are we to congratulate you that you've purchased this device for less than the RRP?

Seriously, though, you can't set your own mp3s as ringtones on it.

You can't??

What on EARTH is the point of combining a phone with an iPod if you can't even combine the two most obvious functions??

That is comic in the extreme

Bozza, this HAS to be gold. I was already cracking up at the battle of the GEEKSPEAK between MYOB and Redland early doors, but now I can almost hear Dwayne grinding his teeth from here at the pickle he\'s got himself into. This thread is sublime on so many levels.

It is rather, isn't it?

I'd imagine it is so that you have to pay Apple $0.99 via the "ringtone creation utility" that is apparently in the new version of iTunes, to convert a song you've already bought from them into a thirty second long ringtone for your iPhone.
