Its the sweetest iPod on the market with WiFi access, I know you can't make calls but I really wouldn't mind one NOW :)

You can't make calls with a phone? What the f*** is the point of it then? You may as well buy yourself a good palmtop-PC instead. You can actually run someone elses software on it then.

Or a far cheaper, smaller, higher specced Nokia Symbian phone, which can make calls, use 3G, run third party apps, use any network, etc.

And has some "duh" features the iPhone is missing - the ability to copy/paste text in emails; use mp3 ringtones, and so on.

I reckon most people who buy an iPhone probably would have grown out of that by now !!!

sold mine!

CLASSIC!

And Redders, do not underestimate the power of the mp3 ringtone. I genuinely think this is the single most obvious reason why the iPhone will fail. Although I'm sure Apple will add capability in later models, because if they don't, they may as well give up now

Really? My Blackberry doesn't have he capability for MP3 ringtones and I have no idea why I'd want it. I guess you never miss what you've never had but I just want my phone to tell me there is a call there for me - I don't give a toss how it does it.

The Blackberry isn't aimed at fashion conscious youths though.

I was under the impression the iPhone was targeting a similar market as the iPod

Blackbery's, whilst functional and useful, are ugly little beasts and I doubt that's what Apple are modelling their latest launch on.

Last year the ringtone industry was worth over $9 billion. You don't have to be interested to see that enough other people are

Yes, but the Blackberry is targetted at business people, and is a smartphone

The iPhone is neither. Its targetted at consumers, who will want that feature.

It didn't do too well on the Gadget Show. Very much style over substance. The camera was usless in low light levels and there's no videoing function!! The N95 came out better.
