Murray.... A bit lazy?

5 goals in 11 games is fairly good, he also has 3 assists. He was credited with the goal at Walsall that the press association originally had as a Gerrard og.

For me a good example of why he isn't a lazy player - he did the work to get the ball and kept going to finish it off...even if he didn't score it he was right on the defenders back to get it in...he and the rest of the team worked hard that night for the result.

I think he is great, wins lots in the air for Fozzie, chases down defenders, can dribble and turn well, and no prima donna attitude.

Therefore I expect NSC to hang him high.

Forster's recent goal glut might have something to do with Murray? Including the penalties and the fact that having two decent forwards helps relieve Forster of being the most marked forward. For a lazy striker Murray doesn't half get into loads of goalscroring positions every game.

not lazy, instead of criticizing him for missing some chances, lets praise the lad for getting into the positions to have these chances. Its only a matter of time until he gets on the next bus!

His style appears lazy but he is not. However yesterday he was off the pace. Either through tiedness, inexperience, night out on the piss, or just one of those days. He is still young remember. Would give him a break tomorrow and play Jake and bring him back fresh to destroy Leeds.

I think he's quality & just what we've been crying out for, a front man with a fantastic first touch who can hold the ball up & link up well. He will get goals but at the moment he won't be a 20 a season player. It's what he does for the team that some can't appreciate, he grafts his bollocks off so how anyone can call him lazy I don't know.
I really think all we need to punch on is a strong central midfielder; maybe that could be Racon, who knows?
Can't understand the rumbling criticism of Murray though, I really rate him.

see i'm still not so sure it was (although it proved me right - i did say Forster and Murray will score so happy with it)

for me that Carlisle away game frustrated him i think (especially with the circumstances surrounding him for that one) so much it destroyed his confidence , he had nothing to work for and was chasing nothing chances so much he hasn't been the same since.

just one good game could put him back on form.

Not sure , Savage scored again for Millwall. Not much differnce between the 2 and now its 50/50 who I want want here now. Any I will not be issuing any more public apologies, I predicted Wilkins would get us relegated, I was wrong.

What rubbish, has scored more goals in less games than Savage for a start, also has a first touch and the ablity to turn defenders. Sure he has missed a few chances but can you remember Savage even getting into the postion to miss ?

Murray also seems to create scoring opportunties for himself which can't remember Bas doing too many times

only one complaint - he does waste a fair few chances

the way he plays the game though, bringing people in and with such a good first touch, may dictate that he is going to be more of a supplier than a goal scorer

lazy - certainly not

Not lazy,i thought he was excellent when we had that 20 minute spell before half time when we played some superb football.
He suffered in the second half with the way the team sat back.
I think he will score 20+ next season.

You are making me weep. Lets break it down (from what I have seen).

First touch: Murray 8/10 Savage 0/10

Ball Control: Murray 8/10 Savage 1/10

Link Play: Murray 8/10 Savage 2/10

Goalscoring rate: Murray 7/10 Savage 3/10

Finishing: Murray 6/10 Savage 5/10

Heading Murray 7/10 Savage 4/10 (for a big man he is appalling in the air)

Pace: Murray 5/10 Savage 6/10

Ability to constantly look like a headless chicken whilst literally NEVER having the ball under control and looking like a pub footballer the very majority of the time, whilst expecting to be paid like a Premiership footballer: Savage 10/10

A young Albion player made his debut for us many seasons ago, and at about the same time in that year as Murray's debut. He scored. Towards the end of the season he was being labelled "lazy" by many Brighton fans.

The next season and for the rest of his time with us he became a real favourite with the majority of The Goldstone punters. He is still a legend to this day, and he happens to be our record goalscorer.

I think Wilkins said in an interview he was knackered.

What a load of bollocks this thread is.

We should be glad to have him.

He's quality, Holds the ball up well and the amount of times he seems to wonder past players with out really doing anything.
He is twice the player of Savage and Revell tried hard but Murray is a different class
He can only get better!!!!
