Murray.... A bit lazy?

Murray is better than Savage, and also better that Revell.

He is just not scoring at the moment, but the goals will come!

He still performs pretty well in my book. He is never going to be the kind of player that chases for every ball and runs his arse off. But he has a classy touch, he holds the ball up with ease and he can be good in the air.

He may come across as lazy sometimes, but then look at Berbatov! He is as lazy as sin, yet he is a great goalscorer.

He is not lazy! He is in the right position a lot more times than not

My only concern is that his finishing has gone off the boil a bit and the extra few goals might be needed if goal difference come into play for the top 6

Not lazy. He uses his pace too good effect and gets into some terrific positions. Just lacking confidence when faced with a goal scoring chance. Don't think he is a cold weather player. Has done better on warmer days.

Not sure , Savage scored again for Millwall. Not much differnce between the 2 and now its 50/50 who I want want here now. Any I will not be issuing any more public apologies, I predicted Wilkins would get us relegated, I was wrong.

What a load of old bollox he is twice the player that Revell and Savage will be put together.

He makes chances and as Brian Clough used to say if you make 20 chances you may score anything from 1 - 20 goals, if you make 1 chance you can only score 1 goal.

Incidentally I hope that Savage gets another 15 goals for Millwall thuis seaon , which will help them beat some of the teams above and around us. The same with Revell , other than against us at Roots Hall.

Yesterday the thought that he was lazy crossed my mind, but I then thought that he actually looked tired. Is a much better player than Savage just needs a goal to get a bit of confidence back too.

His first touch his incredible, he has great vision, and his movement is first class.

Give him time to develop his finishing - i'm sure he's feeling the pressure of an expectant Withdean crowd as well (I don't remember hearing fans groan about a striker so much).

Just because he doesn't have pace doesn't mean he is lazy.

PS - a great example of Glen Murray's "lazyness" was the header he nearly scored with yesterday. A mazy dribble from fairly deep in midfield, lay off to Cox and a surging run into the box to meet the cross with a powerful header that the keeper did well to save. Lazy bastard.

His build up play is a great bonus..its not all about him scoring ..Forster run of goals can be linked to space etc created by Murray

I disagree with you on some of your opinions BG, but I am totally with you on this one. Murray has infinitely more skill than Savage but needs a bit more confidence and a bit more luck.

Lineker (and i'm not making comparisons) once said that the art of being a striker is to "be in the right place all of the time, and if you miss, get back in there again and you'll be back in the right place to make amends"

Murray is doing fine and will probably get even better...

While he is creating the chances he'll do fine for me.

I think tiredness may be an issue at the moment though, not just with him but lots of players. I do worry about the Forest game, and Forest having an extra days rest won't help.

for us Murray at £300000 was an awfull lot of money.in the grand scheme of things however the sum is modest for a goal scorer.

There is nothing wrong with Murray that a little luck wouldn't sort out. I think he has been a terrific addition to the team and since he arrived we have constantly looked like scoring. I have never seen an Albion team that creates so many chances every game. The hard work that Murray puts in is a major part of that. To suggest he is lazy is utter nonsense. He is a great focal point for the team, can take players on, hold the ball up and play others in. I can't believe that some people want to get on his back already.

I think it's fair to say that most fans appear to be pleased with him as a player (me included). This must be a rare thing for NSC to have so many similar views about someone.

I think the doubters are definately in the minority on this one.

he is the meeting point between "lazy" and "unlucky" for me - but that could just be a confidence thing i guess

don't get me wrong , i think he is a fantastic player and he will come good BUT that grit between his teeth that he had first couple of games playing for us seems to have gone and he is doing exactly what Forster does - nothing to actually WIN the ball to start off with and only really see when chasing a lost cause ball or when the ball is placed right to his feet

and with that i think personally he's been in the right place at the right time but for varying reasons it's just not happening for him , i'm hoping a half chance going in for him soon will boost his morale again and we'll see the player we signed :)

5 goals in 11 games is fairly good, he also has 3 assists. He was credited with the goal at Walsall that the press association originally had as a Gerrard og.
