Hats off to the Club for the way they have dealt this so far.

I'm not pissed with Caicedo. I am pissed with those blood sucking leeches that are his agents.
he literally appointed those agents in the last 4 weeks. He knew what the plan was

To be brutally honest, what’s the point of hanging on to him ? He’s almost certain to be half the player he’s been if he stays… it’s counter intuitive to keep anyone against their will … he’ll be gone by Wednesday I suspect, and given how this latest shit show has played out - good riddance.
Because he's a pivotal part of our side that is giving the club the first chance of European football in our 120-year history.

He's a young bloke who is being poorly advised by a new agent who is trying to engineer a move because that's how he gets his own big pay day.

Everyone I know who has met or dealt with Moises speaks highly of him, and once this has blown over, he'll get his head down and do his utmost to help the club have a strong second-half of the season before he then has the opportunity to choose from the numerous offers he's likely to have.

So;

Caicedo is 21 years old

He is on amazing money but crap compared to what he could be earning on Wednesday, which will make him and his family rich beyond their wildest dreams.

And he has the chance to be in the team that probably wins the Premier League this season.

Or he could stay - get injured and lose all that

Forget agents, managers, and all the other noise.

What would you choose?
I’d probs choose Arsenal but then think bugger, I have a contract elsewhere. It’s not like this scenario of “missing out” is unique to football, or even employment for that matter. Many other people experience life like this.

Agree with all of that

The dull part of the south coast
See Trossard and Cucurella - As soon as a player effectively downs tools - which seems Caicedo has done if he hasn’t turned up for training today - it’s only a matter of time before they are off regardless of contract length. Normally a short period of time too.

We could of course just keep turning down bids. We won’t though.
It seems the club have made it perfectly clear - he’s not for sale this transfer window. They also may have put down a marker about not being messed about - both to players and prospective buyers.

Firstly, as a player you will not get your way by throwing your toys out of the pram, having a hissy fit and refusing to train.

Secondly, to clubs who want to disrupt and try to buy whoever they want, the message is clear. We are not a selling club, we are not a feeder club - unless it suits our aims and objectives. In the meantime sort out your own scouting and recruitment programme and leave us alone!

I mean the statement from caciedo/agents was abysmal. But is he badly advised? Throwing toys out of the pram usually works for footballers?

I'm not so sure. How he behaves - and plays - from here could potentially be a red flag to other teams about him (or his 'people' potentially pulling similar stunts with them.

My hunch? He'll still be here and it will all be forgotten (ish) until the summer when he WILL move. And he will still put in the effort because he doesn't want to be overlooked by potential suitors.

And this is exactly why players put in transfer requests or play up. It allows the owners to sell the player without getting grief from the supporters. If Trossard was a hardworking model pro and then sold for 27m, we'd all be peed off with TB and the rest of the club for sanctioning that - way too cheap, why are we letting a great player leave now? But because we're flinging the blame at Trossard many are saying we got a good deal. It's clever from the player and his agents.
That rather assumes the owners want to sell the player in the first place. I don’t think Albion had ang desire to move on Trossard or Caicedo in the middle of our best ever season.

Looking again at the wording of that statement it's very odd. It's not really a request to leave, it reads more as a standard 'so long and thanks for everything' written after a transfer had been agreed. It hasn't. Weird.
With the name of his home village misspelt.

Just recently heard that Graham Potter was being urged by a lot of people at the club to start playing Caicedo. Way before he did.
We should ask Chelsea for Mudryk in return - I wonder what their answer would be?
”Dude, that’s a crazy soccer negotiation for a nice football kicker”

Need to do an Ajax here, hold out for 80 then sell.

Young talented players must know they can leave (for the right price) or they wont be as enthused to join.

Totally unprofessional. What happened to our dickhead test ?
Do you wish we hadn't signed him? Do you think Tony wishes we hadn't signed him?

And it's not clear to me that he's being a dickhead. He's had his head turned and nonsense fed to him from his agent. Hopefully he'll still be good for the rest of the season,

My mate's a big Lancing fan and he was gutted that two of their best players were poached by clubs at a higher tier...

It goes on at all levels, all part of footballs rollercoaster ride
Yeah I agree losing your best players does go on at every level. Lewes lost Ollie Tanner last year, but I wasn't gutted I was pleased for him. Even if they'd lost half the squad, it wouldn't have been the end of the world, because watching those clubs isn't about being the best team in the country. It's more like football used to be. The clubs have a real community feel to them.

Because it’s no longer about him. It’s about #teamslikebrighton telling the big six to f*** off.

100 million and we talk, until you are in that ball park there is nothing to see here. Move on and come back in the summer.

The club have told MC to stay away until Tuesday and then focus on the remainder of the season.

Club then have time to plan and recruit ahead of his inevitable departure in the summer.

Totally relaxed with the situation TBH, the only disappointment is his hissy fit and badly advised social media post means he misses the Liverpool game as a result.

Yep. Absolutely hate it when they go public. It always means they're a bit dead to me afterwards even if they stay for a bit. Just no need for it. Even worse with the highly insulting 'Hey I'm just a humble guy' routine at the beginning.
