Would probably work well at an away game, as we often get terraces, plus the fans who travel away are, with respect, more likely to get in the spirit of something like this than a few pensioners at Withdean.

can we have a west ham warm up ?

all those new fans who come along will have to buy a scarf :)

Nice idea, but isn't it just embarassing that we have to teach 9/10ths of Albion's support how to behave on matchdays at Withdean? Get drunk too and shout until yer voice goes too!!

Krispies was wearing one of the PINK albion scarfs you can buy in the club shop at Donny - How about we all get one of them to wave around ?

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
I posted something along the similar lines to Insider a few days ago, to see if they can organise a company to sponsor and maybe handout some scarves.

It could be very good and add to the atmosphere, which is not difficult!

Be good if people can get the proper old fashioned blue & white striped scarves too. They sell a version in the club shop I'm sure.

*update on Millwall Scarfday*

The story will be in the Argus and Sports Argus this Saturday. Andy Naylor phoned me today and told me he had spoken with Dean Wilkins and Dean Cox and they "love the idea".

I've also spoken with my contact at Borussia Dortmund who gave this advice:

I've read some postings on the board. Your idea is very good beside the part with sponsors! A sponsor (or the club) shouldn't pay for that! No one paid for our displays, no club, no sponsors! Display should be make from fans to fans. And I think nearly everyone has a scarf at home?! Hopefully it will work! Do promotions on the boards, maybe in newspaper and on flyer at the west ham game. But don't expect that it will work fantastic for the first time! Maybe only a few people will bring their scarf, but you can organize it for a 2nd time and than maybe more people will follow. Don't give up! But I'm not sure if this will make the atmosphere better!

"Citrus in Sheffield" and "Man of Harveys" would like to come to Dortmund? Tell them they are welcome. They could contact me for tickets, if they want.

There you go and a nice offer for Man of Harveys and Citrus in Sheffield to boot. I went their a couple of weeks back, it really is a great weekend.

Thanks for all your support by the way!

Way out west
That is a brilliant idea, I have only seen it done once at a game and it was really impressive. The idea of approaching a sponsor to pay for scarves is a good one, or have a nominal donation for charidee, after all the club did stump up the cash to provide a red and white one to everyone who travelled by bus to a cup game at Peterborough...mind you it was bloomin freezing that day and you needed more than a scarf to keep hypothermia at bay.

Can someone have a word and ask the club to tell the stewards to lay-off for that game. We want our atmosphere back and they're very good at killing whatever little atmosphere there is with their petty rule enforcement. Nobody died standing up at a football game for a few minutes at a time........people used to do it for 90+minutes in the 80's you know......... :p
