[Politics] Matt Hancock is a hands-on kind of man.

Just been on the BBC News website and its really wound me up.

Having been lectured by scientists and politicians alike for 15 months, Hancock gets caught snogging his girlfriend and ignoring the very social distance rules he has been "warning" us all will be dangerous if we don't. The onus on personal responsibility on all this has been huge - its our fault if granny dies. And don't get me started on what job she was supposed to be doing.

Yet the BBC report line is all about the green list, who is playing at what concert and Europe's quarantine policy. All interesting but when our way of life has been so massively disrupted, the least you could expect is a modicum of criticism or commentary - but there's nothing.

Just makes me fume. Mount and Chilwell are forced to quarantine for having a chat with someone, yet Hancock can do what he bloody well likes.

Grrr....

There's no way Hancock will survive this. If the photos are genuine (i.e. including the apparent date), the breaching of covid rules will do for him. His views on Prof Neil Ferguson last year only add to the ammunition.

He won't have support from Johnson, so he's toast. (though there will be no comment on the moral aspect of the affair of course - he'll get a private pat on the back for that)

Standby to see as many as possible of the government's covid response mistakes dumped into Hancock's lap.

This is what Hancock had to say when Prof Neil Ferguson had to resign his Covid role fo pretty much the same sort of reason

'Prof Ferguson, whose advice to the prime minister led to the UK lockdown, said he regretted "undermining" the messages on social distancing.

The Telegraph reported that a woman he was said to be in a relationship with visited his home in lockdown.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock said it was "extraordinary" and that he "took the right decision to resign".

He told Sky News that it was "just not possible" for Prof Ferguson to continue advising the government.'

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has apologised for breaching social distancing guidance after photographs were published appearing to show him kissing his adviser, adding: “I have let people down and am very sorry”

admitting breaking rules - he will be gone shortly.

It’s like we’re being governed by a posh version of The Inbetweeners.

Not getting fired then……Boris will have personally approved the public apology and decided not to act. Probably slapped him on the back and said ‘go on son, nice one’ while winking at him at the same time.
