Mashed Potato,how do you like it and what with ?

For me a few lumps and not buttery. Cabbage and Onion Gravy.

I love mash potato with liver and onions and cabbage. With toad in the hole.

I make it with a little milk and supermarket spread.

Sometimes I have a bowl of mash potato with an onion gravy.

Proper mash needs some butter and mixed with double cream. Goes nice with a proper pie and gravy on

i prefer it replaced with just about any other form of potato. i know you can get nice mash, but its risky it might be gag inducing.

Sausages and lots of home made, very rich onion gravy and peas
A nice ribeye steak and a red wine or mushroom sauce (mustard mash works particularly well)
Slow-roasted lamb shanks, crispy roasted root veg and the lamb shank cooking juices (bottle of wine, herbs, garlic, veg....then reduced and thickened)

Mash with lambs liver (fried) with bacon and onions.

I do love normal mash.
But have tried making mash with different combo's of normal potato, Sweet Potato, carrot, butternut squash, parsnip and celariac.

Potatoes mixed with other root vegetable (any will do but carrot, parsnip, swede or turnip are good) 2:1 ratio, horseradish or mustard, a little oil or milk for moisture, ground pepper, maybe some shredded cabbage.
