Brighton factually.....
"The well-laid plans for the club that he and the executive chairman [Nicola Cortese] had mapped out over a year ago will continue to be implemented uninterrupted and nothing will change in that regard."

Until the reading of his last will and testament !

Pardon me, again, I think out of respect we should leave it a few days before discussing where this passing leaves Southampton FC.

What is wrong with that part of the world?

With pompey in the news so much recently and now this, whenever you see pompey or southampton fans commenting on anything they come across as absolute RETARDS.

... And the bottom line is he had a passion for Saints and anyone inheriting his wonga will want to carry on his work in his name.

i dont know his history, but just how much passion does a swiss business man have for a average football club from the south coast? was he just playing fantasy football chairman? what do you know about those set to inherit? they might be happy to have a small plaque to remember his name and extract all the cash. I dont remember myself but someone mentioned recently that many of our problems came about when Bamber died and his widow wanted the money back. I think we should be more gracious about it considering.

From what I recall, he made his vast fortune selling cranes fro dockyards and similar. A large part of his business was done in the Southampton area, thus the affinity.

Whether his family share that, is quite another thing entirely.

Some of his cranes are or were being used at the AMEX.

from the wiki, the family business Liebherr is in construction machinery, which i suppose could include dockyard machinery too. Markus businesses seem to be involving R&D into rail train components and equipment.

Blimey. Does that put them in the shit?

I think it depends if he has already stashed cash into the club or if he was paying month by month. If it is the former then they will be OK, if the latter then I think his assets will be frozen while his estate is settled.

Sad that they guy has passed away he clearly loved football.
