Thinking about it, surely their wage bill isn't that high? They've only got a few big name earners, most of who could be easily sold if needbe. They should be able to find a new owner reasonably quickly I would have thought too

I'd say Puncheon, Davis, Barnard, Lambert, Hammond, Butterfield, Fonte and Jaidi are on a very generous wage.

Under your skin.
They won't need to sell anyone.

Liebherr set up a trust fund. Saints fans said he never looked to be in great shape.

Well said Express.

But for all for you thinking were in trouble, ML has secured the services of Lambert, Barnard, Conolly, Puncheon, Hammond, Richardson, Jaidi etc etc all of who wont be suddenly leaving. And the bottom line is he had a passion for Saints and anyone inheriting his wonga will want to carry on his work in his name.

Anyone who laughs at this should remember many a Saints fan turning up at the Goldstone for fans united in 97. Oh and you should also fcuk off.

Well said, he says.
Then does the complete opposite.

It's sad news when anyone dies.

I find the arrogance even in that statement by the club astonishing though. "He would have wanted to be there when Saints get promoted to the Premier League."

They would do well to remember where they are at present before saying things like that.

Bloody hell. I thought Pards had croaked it. When I got home from work Mrs P said the Southampton manager had died.

Was talking to a Saints fan on Saturday about what would happen if he upped and left them... didn't envisage this!
Sad news.
