Actually the WHO have been pretty awful. They announced that the virus wasn’t catching and said that people from the affected area should still be allowed to fly into every country in the world.

And the head of the WHO played silly identity politics games and sucked up to the Chinese communist regime.

Well, I disagree.
Regarding your first point, that was early on, and that initial advice was based on the evidence that they currently had. It's all well and good being wise after the event.
Regarding your second point, that quotation from Tedros isn't remotely playing "silly identity politics", but the exact opposite, whereas it doesn't take too much imagination to identify which high profile figures have been playing "silly identity politics". I will grant you that the way in which WHO have dealt with the China-Taiwan issue has been poor, but I'm not expecting perfection from them.

It was pretty obvious it was catching by then. People were being sealed in their flats by men in hazmat suits.

And when there’s a pandemic raging, I don’t expect the head of the WHO to be worrying about “hate” speech over the world’s health.

And then there as his conference call with Lady Gaga...

A government scientific advisor is now preparing us for the worst:

“Wellcome Trust director Sir Jeremy Farrar told the BBC's Andrew Marr Show the UK was likely to be "one of the worst, if not the worst affected country in Europe".
Currently Italy has the highest number of deaths of any European country - with more than 19,000 deaths - followed by Spain, France and the UK, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.”

Q: How can an Island nation who has complete control of their borders and could have quarantined the super-spreaders before they infected the nation end up the worst effected country in Europe?

A: Mr Johnson. Bluster, dithering, blind to best practice in other countries, ability to only tell people what they want to hear and an opponent of lockdown until the last possible moment in line with his popularist small government & libertarian mindset.

Let’s hope the upcoming public inquiry does not go the same way as the Russian report!

We need international cooperation. The WHO's calls for solidarity reflect that. On a national level, their advice has been to test, track and trace. What's your issue with that?

They let the disease spread globally and then have just stated the obvious. If they hadn’t spoken of testing, tracking, and tracing, do you think no one else would’ve thought of it?

You seem to think you know more than this expert body, whereas I don't think you do. As I stated in the initial post that you responded to, there will be an enquiry that follows on from this, and the responses of the various key actors will be analysed. And as you are so knowledgeable on this subject, perhaps you can point us all towards your posts in which you were indicating that "test, track and trace" is obvious prior to this becoming WHO's guidance.

If it's obvious, why haven't many countries followed the advice?

657 England deaths, 24 Scotland and 18 wales. Can’t read an awful lot into this even though it looks like a drop, Sunday and Mondays figures are flawed as proven the last 2 weeks due to recording deaths over the weekend.

The 4 day Easter weekend will lead to under reporting for the next day or so.

I'm expecting catch up surges on Thursday and Friday.
