Fair point, and noted, but other than the drug company making the stuff (which is fairly common knowledge in Horsham where it’s being made) no names have been mentioned.
It just sounded to far fetched to be true, but he’s just not the type to make stuff up, I trust him implicitly, but I do get your point, if the mods feel the need they can by all means delete my posts.

I wouldn’t worry. I would have deleted my post if I’d thought in time. Sorry to have been dramatic :)

Sounding a bit "Donald" there HT.

"Millions, if not billions of trials...." [emoji23]

Ha ha. I’m referring to all clinical trials though, not Covid 19 ones.

It’s incredible but unsurprising that even with changing the people doing them, these conferences are getting worse. Absolutely no compassion or responsibility

Yep. Can't argue with anything you've said and the article is (hopefully) an outlier case.

Was just saying that it's certainly not exclusive to the US where actual death figures aren't being correctly reported. Because it's impossible at present.
Yeah it just struck me as odd. Of course there are some people (nursing homes etc) where it's not seen as suitable for the patients to go to hospital, but we don't generally hear of people who've had a cough and temperature for a few days and then boom, they're dead. Maybe it's this: ?

I wonder if the USA healthcare setup prevents poorer folk from contacting emergency services until it is too late? Was he working in a poorer area of New York?
Possible, I have no idea. Just thought it was shocking. What an awful position for those health workers to be in.

Meanwhile, my teenage daughter has just received a letter from the government saying she's on the list of the highest risk people. Well that's cheery.

They are building several nightingale hospitals despite the fact they believe we are near too inflections peak, something doesn’t sit right about that particularly given how they’ve mentioned at times that this lockdown is to give the NHS ‘time to prepare’ and flatten the curve. I wonder if the government are still possibly looking at the herd immunitys/Sweden route, but in order to go down this route they needed time to build the extra emergency buildings for this as had we gone this route initially the NHS would have been overwhelmed.
My guess (and that's all it is) is that they're preparing extra beds just in case, but hoping we don't need them.

A lot of it is because we largely don't have a Government, we're run by a personality cult. And as soon as that personality was unable to do it things started unravelling. Sunak is the best of the rest but the Government is Johnson and Johnson is the Government.

These political opinions are supposed to be on another thread.

Definitely not seasonal flu stuff, they don’t give police escorts for tamiflu, I think more likely trials that have been sped up considerably given the circumstances, we know three weeks ago they were already injecting people with potential vaccines, and given they already have a lot of info from SARS, I guess it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that advanced trials have commenced.

As a follow up I just checked and there’s only two European Covid related studies, both in Italy, which have a protocol in place and are recruiting subjects ie they are up and running. One is for 500 subjects and is looking at vitamin c as an antiviral. The other is for 104 participants and investigating Methylprednisolone which is a pre-existing corticosteroid for dealing with respiratory issues ie it’s not an antiviral or vaccine.

It will interesting to find out more from your trip.

Hardly surprising with Patel chairing it. Difficult to imagine a less compassionate, responsible or intelligent politician. She ticks all the boxes of nasty.

This is what I mean, no info whatsoever, but as I said I’ve no reason to disbelieve him either, he certainly wouldn’t make something like this up.....we been best mates for over 30 years, I’ll try and gain some info when I go out and report back, it may be something and nothing, or it could be massive !
