Day 1: 14st 9lb
Day 8: 14st 8lb
Day 15: 14st 3lb
Day 22: 14st 3lb
Day 29: 14st 2lb

You could call this 'a month of two halves, with a mediocre finish after a fast start! But that's still a pound off! I'm away for the next couple of days but *technically* whatever happens then, I've still lost the seven in the month :lolol:

1 Jan: 82.35kg (13st 0lb)
8 Jan: 80.80kg (12st 10lb)
15 Jan: 81.15kg (12st 11lb)
22 Jan: 80.55kg (12st 10lb)
29 Jan: 80.05kg (12st 8lb)

Loss since 1 Jan: 2.3kg (5lb)

It is very unlikely that I’ll lose another 0.65kg (2lb) in the next couple of days. But I don’t mind, I’ve lost 6.5kg (over 14lb) since the start of November and am the lightest I’ve been for decades. I’ve achieved this through cutting out snacking between meals, so I think this is sustainable and will carry on after the end of Jan.

I’d like to slip under the 80kg barrier by the end of the week, which should be achievable as I’m tantalisingly close now.

Thank you and well done to everyone else on this thread. I’ve tried to lose weight before, but never achieved anything on this scale. I literally couldn’t have done it without you.

Will carry on till April but will only post if the thread keeps going...

Thanks so much for everyones input here...blinding thread

Day 1: 16st 3lb
Day 29: 15st 13lb
Loss: 4lb (about 2kg)
Target: 15st 10lb

At first I was really disappointed with this, but I took a moment to reframe and concluded:

- my weight was slowly creeping back up in December and that has stopped.
- I've lost about a pound a week despite a couple of major slip ups. That's very sustainable.
- I feel like my habits are changing, but I need to be vigilant.
- I'm not really missing snacking and really enjoying the healthy evening meals.

So, by any measure, that's progress.

I'll add my end of Jan weight in a couple of days, but it won't be 7lb loss unless I lean on the window cill whilst weighing.

And then I'll keep going. Like Southampton, I am determined to get to 14. Points at the end of the season in their case, stone in mine.

Thanks for all the encouragement, advice and camaraderie on this thread. It really helps.

Thanks for starting this CBH. A really inspirational and great journey.

I've lost 3lbs so far this month (not ideal, but there you go). It has been a really difficult one (more difficult than Nov.)
Mostly because of things like Burns night and me agreeing to social events when I should just say "no".

But, the fight goes on.
The 7lbs is so arbitrary. A 3lb loss is progress. If you can sustain that for a few months, you're making huge progress. Stick with it and keep sharing. We'll get there (eventually).

Likewise, a thank you to YOU, too. Like in November, this thread has really helped focus my diet and exercise to the point where I'm really not sure I could've done it without the thought of weekly posts on my progress.

I'm up for carrying on trying to shift the timber, although I'm not sure I've got another 7lb in me to shed in just a month. But that will be the target, safe in the knowledge that I might not get there.

Well done to everyone and their progress, regardless of how much you've lost and how long it took. A bit like the Albion, progress isn't linear and there will be ups, downs and away days where the likes of @dazzer6666 (he admitted it himself) has a shocker. But every day is a fresh start and a chance to once again look forward, not dwell on the previous day's 'result'.

Let's hope we all have a FAB February!

Forgot to post my weigh in on Friday because I was so shocked I nearly fainted.

January 3rd - 13st 11
January 10th - 13st 9.5
January 17th - 13st 6.5
January 24th - 13st 3

Eight pounds down in three weeks. I cannot believe quite how much difference not drinking any alcohol makes.

Like others, hope this thread keeps going. It's great to see how others are doing and gives motivation to keep going. Ideally, I'd like to get down to at least 12st 7, which would be the lightest I've been in 20 years. Unsure how realistic that is once Dry January is over!

You could consider cutting back on the booze when Dry January ends? Not during the week maybe?

I stopped drinking at the end of 2021, but my decision was nothing to do with trying to lose weight. It's a good thing thing, really, because it made ZERO difference to my weight – if anything it was more than counteracted by all the extra stuff I was eating because I developed a sweet tooth, possibly because of the lack of alcohol!

Day 1 84.1kgs 13st 3lbs
Day 8 83.4kgs 13st 2lbs
Day15 80.9kgs 12st 10lbs
Day22 81.1kgs 12st 11bs
Day29 80.7kgs 12st 10lbs.

A real up and down and a bit of stagnation through the month. I did think I would have lost more 0.4 of a kg which is a small disappointment. On the more positive side, down 8.2kgs since 1st November, which I am chuffed to bits about.

I see I have scraped into the 7lbs loss this month, but I will see where I am on Saturday ( 1st Feb) to make sure I have crossed the line.

Like a few others, this journey isn't going to end on Saturday. 10 years ago I was 79.2kgs, so at least another 1.5 kgs to go.

I have made inroads on a healthier eating lifestyle but far from an established habit as yet. The support and encouragement from so many is an enormous help. Thankyou everyone and of course in particular, Couldn't be Hypia.
