The thing is that no one in this Division is going to pay out mega bucks for a player who has sat on the bench for the whole of the season so far,and he isnt a proven Div 1 player,so hopefully he will have to lower his wage demands,or sit on his arse up North for the next 18 months!

I reckon he will still come down here as he hates it up there and he wont hack another 18 months of sub zero tempretures etc.

He just needs a reality check.

I'm glad that the BHAFC board have some common sense and manage the club properly. It would not be healthy for the club to spend £4k a week on Lloyd Owusu's wages.

if wednesday were daft enough to give him a long, well paid contract you can understand him not wanting to take a wage cut to move

however its a shame for us that he takes cash over a chance to get his career back on track

LATEST from the Sheffield Star website today (paragraph taken from a story about Shefki Kuqui):

Kuqi has gone to Ipswich for three months on loan, with a view to a full deal, and a move for Lloyd Owusu is not ruled out.. Brighton are believed to have been continuing talks with the player's agent, after Turner gave permission for the approach.

Would be a great addition but if Robert Lester Zamora's info is right and he is on £8k, there is no way he'll be coming down.

But if Wednesday are looking to cut their wage bill they may well pay him off part of his contract to cut their losses which will allow us to take him on a lower wage.
He doesn't end up too much out of pocket and gets 1st team football andwe get the player we want.
:clap2:

There is no way that Wednesday are paying him £8k a week. The club have been trying to cut their overheads for the last few years following relegation from the Prem, and would not pay that type of money in the post ITV Digital era. They are in danger of administration themselves due to the interest burden on huge debts

A poster on Sheffs Rivals has confirmed that he is off to Brighton. Perhaps the deal is not dead in the water.
Come on Dick - we need this player as badly as you need to burn a hole in your wallet:clap:

Think the deal was done pre-ITV Digital though which is why they are so desperate to off-load him.

It amy be in Wendy's interest to meet us half way on his wages and pay him off part of his contract, that way it's a win-win deal

I suppose it depends how desperate they are to offload. However, if they've lost Kuqi maybe they aren't under so much pressure now. Still, no harm in trying.
