From the Sheffield Star:
Brighton in Owusu move
OWLS striker Lloyd Owusu is being tracked by Brighton.
Seagulls manager Steve Coppell, who was Owusu's boss at Brentford, is understood to have made at least two inquiries about him in recent weeks.
Rumours about Brighton fancying the striker have reached such a pitch that Wednesday manager Chris Turner had to admit today: "They are interested in Lloyd, and have asked about him in the past.
"He is a former player of Steve Coppell's and I guess that's where the link lies."
The Owls manager refuses to eloborate, on confidentiality grounds, but Coppell may well have taken the opportunity of last week's match between the clubs to check again on Owusu's situation at Hillsborough.
It is no secret that the Owls, who are still in a difficult fiancial position, would have to consider seriously any offer for any of their players.
Brighton's interest in Owusu could have been one of the many subjects discussed by Turner and his chairman Dave Allen at this week's meeting to plan the way ahead.
Owusu has been sub for the last three games and went on from the bench at Brighton last Saturday.
He scored 20 goals in Division Two for Coppell's Brentford side in the 2001-02 season .
