From the Sheffield Star:

Brighton in Owusu move

OWLS striker Lloyd Owusu is being tracked by Brighton.

Seagulls manager Steve Coppell, who was Owusu's boss at Brentford, is understood to have made at least two inquiries about him in recent weeks.
Rumours about Brighton fancying the striker have reached such a pitch that Wednesday manager Chris Turner had to admit today: "They are interested in Lloyd, and have asked about him in the past.
"He is a former player of Steve Coppell's and I guess that's where the link lies."
The Owls manager refuses to eloborate, on confidentiality grounds, but Coppell may well have taken the opportunity of last week's match between the clubs to check again on Owusu's situation at Hillsborough.
It is no secret that the Owls, who are still in a difficult fiancial position, would have to consider seriously any offer for any of their players.
Brighton's interest in Owusu could have been one of the many subjects discussed by Turner and his chairman Dave Allen at this week's meeting to plan the way ahead.
Owusu has been sub for the last three games and went on from the bench at Brighton last Saturday.
He scored 20 goals in Division Two for Coppell's Brentford side in the 2001-02 season .

excellent news. Can we afford him?

The Wendy's top earners are on £4000 a week, I'd assume he'd be one of them as they signed him on a free when they were i the 1st Division.

Hopefully he'd take a few quid less in order to be back home in the South and away from all the Dingle Country whippet chasers ;)

At the foot of the downs
I we throw Henderson back, that should hopefully free up enough for Coppel to start haggling with

If he's sitting on the bench, then Turner can't think much of him. Hopefully he'll want to settle back down saf, but I at the moment it's all speculation. I hope we do get him (could do with a player like him) and eat them at their place!:clap2:

I hope he does come.

Henderson is a f***ing donkey muppet.

Owusu has pace and guile and would craete loads of space for leon, those two could take us up as champions.

Horsham Town
Class two strikers both shunned by Turner, that could be quality next time we played them.

He'd be happy joining us:

Played under SC already
Wants 1st team footy which he aint getting at Weds
Partner to Div2 top striker Gary Coleman
Playing for a team challenging for Promotion (OK Weds are aswell but he wont be going to Cheaterfield or anywhere like that)

Whether we have the resources is another matter, it could a disclosed deal, i.e. money on promotion, appearances etc etc

All in all looking good I say, we need a decent striker alongside Knight who has experience (send donkey back immediatley), although we have McPhee/Beach Boy/Marney they will be good as subs for this season and McPhee is certainly capable (IMO) of taking over from injurys/suspensions.

Bring in Owusu I say

Bobby's wages GONE, Kitson's wages GONE, Brooker's wages GONE, reduced contracts as BHA are now Division2, no way can Roberts/Leons wages add up to what we were playing the above three so surely there must be some money in the pot....

Only problem may be if Wednesday want a fee, because he is under contract and they won't let him go on a freebie

However I, and 4999 plus other fans, pay over the odds for their season tickets for DK to put something back into this club of ours that we follow come hell or high water, so get that chequebook ready Mr (D) Knight!!!

PS and then a midfielder!!!!!!
