The Julia Holter/ Future of The Left clash is driving me mad (both had records in my personal top 10 last year.) I may have to toss a coin, or clone myself.

Exactly the same predicament.
I recall that Future Of The Left played very early last time they were at The Haunt as we almost missed them. Think it was all over by 10 p.m. Slight chance that could happen again as same venue in which case if Julia Holter came on late then could catch a bit of both? Having said that the ticket for Julia Holter says doors at 7.30 which is a bit hopeful for a late finish.
Ooops- secret out. I went for her in the end. Based it on the fact that I have seen Future Of The Left before- thats all! Shallow I know!

Bagged a ticket for The Lovely Eggs at West Hill Community Hall on 28th September; will be the 4th time I've seen them on this particular run of dates. Top-notch stuff!

I've plumped for Julia for the even more shallow reason that I've managed to get a freebie for reviewing purposes. FOTL will be back I'm sure.

She's also a bit prettier than Falco.

And quieter. My girlfriend will enjoy it more too. She prefers the more up market venues!!!

As part of the 20th year celebrations of Koln's rather splendid Kompakt Records they are having a pop-up shop in the studios of Ableton with their artist roster messing about in the studios themselves..... and then the party moves onto The Panorama Bar/Berghain in the evening.

If you like electronic music and do not know Kompakt then start listening now. Theirs is a lovely story and they crank out some excellent music. If you're ever in Koln check out their HQ.

Excited is an understatement.

Yeah, I'm really excited about this. And I will be making a day of it, with some shopping at the pop-up and nosing around at Ableton as well. And of all the clubs they could choose they went for Berghain. Fantastic.

If anyone is interested in checking out the label a good place to start is any of the 3 Gui Borrato long players, Looping State of Mind and/or Yesterday and Tommorrow by The Field or In Technicolor by Coma. They have heap of samplers as well.

Have a good one, I'd love to be seeing Nine Inch Nails there this weekend, I've heard they're in cracking form since Trent decided to play again. I'll have to catch them on the TV.

Only saw half of them last week as they overlapped with Johnny Marr, but from what I did catch they were pretty good. Didn't play Hurt though.

As in you didn't see them play Hurt or they didn't play Hurt? I can't imagine a NIN set being complete without that singalong to end all signalongs.

They didn't play it. Went off after Head Like a Hole with 5 minutes of their slot left, and didn't come back.

Maybe Trent Reznor was pissed off about something...
