Take it she's not a fan then! :lolol:

Did you go to Rush at O2 world btw? It was a good show.

Ha ha, nope she isn't. No. I ended up going to see Kurt Vile on the same night. A friend went and said it was enjoyable from the back of the venue. I went to the 02 World a few weeks ago to see Maiden. It's a great arena.

It is good. We had tickets for "front of stage" standing which we don't get in the UK too often. I need to keep an eye out for a decent gig there next year so we have an excuse to come back to Berlin again.

Looking forward to the Levellers at the Dome on Friday. Fair play to them for taking part in the Fans and Bands Albion fundraiser back in the late nineties.

Spit Shake Sisters supporting Warm Soda last night were a revelation. Garage rock in the Black Lips/ Ty Segall vein, far better IMHO than the overhyped Wytches. The play again at the weekend festival at the Green Door Store 3-4 August. Well worth catching.

Warm Soda themselves were tragic. Bubblegum pop punk in the vein of Blink 182.

Should be a good one tomorrow. Get there early for Electric Soft Parade too, on at 7.30 I think.

Seconded, they are complete victims of a fickle music industry. The first album was rightly lauded (and Mercury nominated) but by the time they released the second the indie world was worshipping at the altar of The Strokes. They've just soldieried on in their quietly excellent way.

Tom White's solo albums are well worth a look as well.

Totally agree, a vastly underrated band who should have had much more success. I hope they get a decent turnout tomorrow. The new album is superb and their recent Green Door gig was terrific fun.

First album was great. I think I saw them support Ian Brown as well. I lost touch with them after the first album. Not really sure why though.

Thee Oh Sees are incredible live. Take earplugs and get your dancing shoes on.

Bloody hell; they're manic. The singer is a interesting and narly looking character. I will definitely file his looks and mannerisms under slightly unhinged. They came on at 11pm and played for 1:40 at quite a ferocious pace. Crowd loved it and I understand what you mean about ear plugs and dancing shoes. A very different proposition to Sic Alps. The venue was changed at the last minute and the band said "it was shame what happened to the Festsaal [original venue]." ??
Cheers for the tip, off to bed now.

I went to see Springsteen in Cardiff last night. First time I have seen The Boss. Awesome performance. What a man.

3 certainties in this life - Death, Taxations & Thee Oh Sees putting on one hell'uva show. I wish they'd show their face round here again. We got 4 gigs between 09 & 11 and haven't seen them since. I may have to go up to the big smoke for my next fix.

Oh and on the subject of John Dwyer - he has numerous other projects that are worth checking out - Coachwhips, Pink & Brown & OCS (an earlier version of Thee Oh Sees) all have their merits. He's been prolific in the underground for 15 years or so now.
