They don't have a ground Pete, or rather, they don't own it.

Way out west
Leeds tried to spend their way back to the big time, rather than building on sound foundations, that approach failed miserably and they are now paying for it. They are fortunate that they still have a ground, when things went wrong at the Albion that was our only saleable asset, it meant that we were in a far weaker position than they are in real terms. Leeds have a massive fan base who will probably turn out in their thousands if the club do start to turn things around, even in this division, the big worry for them has to be that they don't get that chance.

Should Albion support the 15 point deduction?

No.

The FL should help Leeds by declaring Bates unfit to run a football club.A proper CVA should be rapidly arranged, and whether this means another 10 point deduction under current rules should be the question for debate.

Of course, there may be a feeling that a fifteen point deduction will keep Leeds, and their drawing power,in the lower divisions, and some -even on here- may think -15=relegation,though I certainly wouldn't bet too much on that.

Leeds supporters deserve none of this.Week in,week out they turn out to support their club, just as supporters up and down the land do.We've been there, and it is too painful to wish on ordinary blokes (and blokesses,of course),so hate Bates and the like, but have regard for the feelings of fellow football fans.

Good luck with it Leeds supporters!

Not sure what that means to be honest, but isn't it hypocritical to he happy in the demise of another club because of the way it has been run ?

I think it's incredibly sad what's going on up there.

Only from reading the boards, their fans don't seem to be as mobilised as they could be. Some still living in the past.

I find it hard to understand why they are appealing. For a number of years now, they have been buying players and paying high wages, which they clearly could not afford. Therefore they should not have been in the leagues they have been.
Apart from that, I,m glad they have survived........if only for the time being.

Their fans were quite happy to see the millions and millions (that they didn't have) being spent on players so they could be Billy Big Balls Leeds fans....

Now, after their Chairman and his cronies have tried screwing everybody including charities they have been caught out trying to f*** over every club in League 1 by bending the rules beyond breaking point.

Anything less than 15 points is a complete cop-out by the football authorities. Surely, they should also be made to deposit a bond like we had to to guarantee that they are financially able to fulfil their fixtures. Allowing for inflation and Leeds crooked board-it should be at least 2 million-if they can't pay that-tough!

The 15 point penalty wouldn,t be the demise of the club...........just balancing things out for having a team in the past that they should not have had.
I also have been reading their boards. If their fans displayed a lot less aggression and organised themselves better, they may have a chance of ousting Mr. Bates in the next few years.
About 90% of them on "Waccoe" think it's everybody else's fault (Football League in particular). Never known such hatred, from so many, to any club outside of Leeds.

pass the white stick..........................???

OK then, in what way have the Leeds fans cheated? Why are you blaming the Leeds fans for this nonsense when the blame lies fairly at Ken Bates' door?

We hailed Bellotti when he came to the club, and looked what happened. So, by the same score, are we Brighton fans to blame for not encouraging Bellotti to f*** off the day he arrived?

Quite so.In the same way we,as ordinary football fans of the Albion have no idea whether we can afford to buy players or not,so to suggest that Leeds fans should have said "Ooo,another superstar, but we shouldn't sign him because we cannot afford him"is clearly risible.

You may not like Leeds as a place or as a team, but its fans are fans in the same way we are.

We watch,we moan,we cheer,we groan, but we are not privvy to the finances .We all depend on the veracity of those who DO know, and if they lie, cheat, overspend,
Archerise their clubs,it is only then that Joe Supporter finds out.

And usually it is then far too late.

Glisters is right I think....one of those that is always misquoted because the word is no longer in use.

And no I don't suggest that Leeds fans have cheated but their owners have and it is the club who are being punished for their doing so.....quite rightly under league rules. I really hope that the club Chairmen at their meeting stick to the 15 point penalty - 10 for being in admin and 5 for trying to screw everyone else while laughing in our faces - otherwise every club will be free to break all the rules and the league structure will collapse. That wont be good for anyone

Why the f*** aren't their fans mobilised more effectively? You expect the FA not to have the balls to ensure Bates was found to be unfit to run a football club, but what are the fans doing?

It's ridiculous. We're a club half the size and when we were in similar trouble, the actions of some of our fans were directly responsible for hounding out one of the richest men in the country.

Very disappointing.
