Arsenal

Chelsea
Bournemouth
Brighton
Newcastle

A finished table of that doesn’t seem beyond the realms of possibility. Could trade Bournemouth for Villa or Fulham too!
The problem with that table is that if the FA Cup was won by Villa, Fulham, Palace or Preston then Albion miss out on Europe.

So if Newcastle come in the top 5, 7th in the league gets conference league? Got it, thanks!
No - if they finish in CL or Europa it gets knocked on to 7th or likely 8th - prob will be 8th depending on who wins the FA cup. We are all but assured to finish top 2 in co-efficient table.

It’s just nice to see someone that’s not one of the usual suspects actually winning something.

There is still loads that can happen between now and the end of the season that will influence Europe, there’s no point in getting into specifics about who wins a final. We’ll get there under our own steam.
Couldn’t give a flying fig who wins it normally, just want what’s best for our club and that result was definitely not best for us.

ITV is showing the Sky Sports feed. Never seen that before.

Goes to 8th if one of the top six win the FA Cup or UCL, 9th if both things happen if I have it right
I think 9th is impossible to get Europe. We could get 9 teams in Europe if spurs or Man U win the Europa but don’t think 9th place can win Europe in any way. @Joey Jo Jo Jr. Shabadoo is usually on top of these things. I make it Newcastle finish top 8 now for Europe to go to 8th as it stands. But depends on FA cup winners too.

Today's result has shown that we can't rely on other teams to help our preferred permutations for European qualification.

It's only Chelsea who are clear favourites for their European trophy - it's conceivable that all 4 others could be eliminated at the QF stage.

Up to Albion now to match or better the 6th place from previous, or win the Cup which would be far more glorious.

Of course it’s not impossible but hello the Geordies just showed what a good team they are. And as an above post argues, bit pointless obsessing about it when it’s all in our own hands with 2 qualifying routes

Wouldn’t 9th qualify under the following circumstances:

1 [UCL] Liverpool
2 [UCL] Arsenal - UCL winners
3 [UCL] Forest
4 [UCL] City - FA Cup winners
5 [UCL] Newcastle - League Cup winners
6 [UCL] Chelsea
7 [UEL] Brighton
8 [UEL] Villa
9 [UECL] Bournemouth

Plus a 10th team in Europe - though not the team in 10th - if Utd or Spurs win the Europa League.
