Comment, yes. But the biased, blinkered, and thoroughly negative appraisal of whatever Kazim-Richards does is quite extraordinary. I wasn't directing my posts at you by the way, it's a problem much of nsc suffers from. I genuinely feel that Turkey could reach the final of these Euros and CKR scores the winning goal and there would still be people on this site, as fans of Brighton and Hove Albion (a totally insignificant club in national, let alone international terms) who would claim he's a poor player and we're 'better off without him.'

As for him being very lucky, well I don't think you get picked to go to the Euros in the first place without some degree of talent. Turkey may not be the best team in the world, but they're a long way from the worst, and he's in and around their team. On the evidence of this tournament I'd say they'd almost certainly beat England, yet if we had an ex-player in the England squad I think the remarks on here would be a LOT different. For whatever reason it didn't work out for him here, but I bet he doesn't give a f*** about that. He's gone on to much better things. Have we?

I can only speak for myself when I say I am not bias and like I said, of course he's got talent but I really don't think he's as brillaint as people make out.

That is all.

Maybe arrogance is a result of being somewhere you know you're too good for, as has now been PROVED he was. You're a policeman I gather, so if I demoted you a few ranks and put you in a position you were far too skilled for, would you continue to work with the same endeavour? Would you treat your severely less abled colleagues perfectly? Arrogant he may well have been here in our portacabin dressing room, but the question I'd like answering is how does he behave at Fenerbache alongside people like Roberto Carlos?

it's not like he moved from barcelona to us. he is a prick and an average player. he has never had a prolonged run in any first team as far as i'm aware, and for a striker he is far from prolific. and by the time he does get proper first team football, i suspect it will not be at the highest level.

I was under the impression he came from Bury, so he was demoted to a championship club then :glare:

Good Lord, it was publically stated by a Sheffield United player (Chris Morgan if memory serves me correctly) that Kazim-Richards had an ego the size of Canada, or words to that effect!

If he thought he was the man at a Premier League club, what does that suggest?

And I'm sorry, but if you have any integrity at all, you don't go around treating people in roles you perceive to be lesser than yours like idiots. I don't in my job, I'm sure you don't in yours. That's even more important in a role where you have no choice but to work as a team. If you're relying on other people to give you the ball, thus allowing you to display your undoubted brilliance to the world, perhaps it isn't the best idea to alienate them all by openly considering them to be beneath you.

Has he ever displayed consistent ability in the Premier League?

Answer no. He was mainly on the bench at Sheffield United.

Therefore I would suggest that a club like Hull or Stoke would be exactly his level.

Maybe not, but he has demonstrated his ability at the top of the Turkish League, and in the EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. How many players move from a team in the CL to a team going to finish 19th or 20th in the Premiership? This is a man that scored in the CL quarter final this year, as well.

It seems some people (I don't mean to aim this just at you, edna) suffer from the little england disease; if he's not playing in England, he must be shit, or that success anywhere other than on these shores is no indication of ability.

How can you even excuse his mentality and arrogance ?? He has a disgusting attitude whether playing for Cambridge or Chelsea, nobody has the right to behave or speak in such a way that he thinks he is above people. In talent he may be but as a person is not worth the time. And the fact that you feel it's acceptable, well says a lot really.

No worries, and I certainly don't suffer from Little England disease, if there's one thing that winds me up it's the tabloid mentality that we have a divine right to be at major tournaments, and to succeed at them!

I just felt that given the top Turkish players in English football (eg Tuncay, Emre) are only at clubs like Newcastle and Middlesbrough, and not particularly successfully either, it would be ridiculous to imagine that a fringe player like Colin would somehow magically be attractive to one of the top six, for example.

Yes, completely agree, very well put

That's very true; and is actually the reason I don't see him leaving Fenerbache; certainly a move to Stoke or Hull would be too big a step down, and while he may move to a mid-table club, it would mean foregoing European football (and the chance to gain further exposure). I would imagine if he did want to move back to this country it would be to one of the big clubs.

That's a complete contradiction. You say 'very true' then go on to say that if he did move back it would be to one of the big clubs?? Which is it?

OH MY GOD!.

this thread is barmy.

if he was PORPERLY turkish, and had never played in england, then NOONE would have suggested that he has played well this tournament. he wouldnt even have been noticed.

against portugal he did a few turns and never set up or threatened the chance of scoring a goal. WOW

in his sub performance ( against the czechs) he came on and actually mis-controlled a pass when through on goal. he had 3 chances to cross, 2 were over hit and one went no where near nihat who then went MENTAL at him.

HOW have people seen these BRILLIANT performances???!?!??

'want' is the key word.

There's no reason that one of the top 6 clubs would want to sign him, but he would only want to sign for one of the top 6.
