I'm sorry but this is nonsense. There is a reason why he is so highly rated: because he is a WORLD CLASS centre half. To say that Carvalho is better than him is ridiculous.

Terry is your archetypal 'stopper' and complements Rio and Carvalho perfectly, much like Sol Campbell did when he played for Engalnd. As I've said before, Ranieri, Mourinho, Grant, Scolari, Ancelotti, Erikksson, (McClaren) and Capello have all rated him as their first choice centre half and appointed him captain, and they all know their onions.

We all see things differently. When Carvalho arrived - he looked a class act next to Terry. Carvalho seems to have gone off the boil amongst his injuries - but to say Terry is a better centre-half seems ridiculous to me.

That is true about the managers - but Terry does not seem to be the player he was. And the status he has been given seems to be a factor in his erratic behaviour and form. For England he has not got the same status - so loses his Chelsea 'aura'.

I think John Terry is a twat, but then again so are Ferdinand, Gerrard, Rooney, Cole for so many reasons. But Terry's been fit all season and been nowhere near as bad a form as people make out.

So Capello and Ancellotti have picked him as captain for his aura?

Add Rio Ferdinand and we are reading from the same page.
I just look at Ferdinand as a loveable, thick buffoon.

Mind you, his wage demands (after injury and drug-test related suspension) do rather beggar belief. Then again, he was only shitting on Man Utd there so no harm done.

I quite admire Rooney really. He looks after himself, conducts himself well in public, and is a brilliant English player. That's really all I expect from a football player earning a shed load.

Some things in football I don't understand - but these people know more than me. I don't doubt he is a good player - and if we were in a trench I would like him alongside me. For most games he is clearely fine.

I just have no confidence in him when he plays top quality forwards.

The only people I am going to find it hard to get behind are
John Terry, "Stevey G", Cashley Cole and Jamie Carragher.

No problem with the other 26, but I really don't like those 4.

It may be just me but the way I see it is they are just footballers and all that matters is what they get up on to on the field. What they do off it is their business.

All of those chaps, with maybe the exception of Carragher, would walk in to any team in Europe. Therefore would be a big loss if not in the England setup.

He's in the "groovy gang", like everyone else on here who used the word "cocker".

It's only you, on the outside looking in, bushy. As usual. :lolol:

Fair play but I disagree.

If you say so.

While I'm bothering to grace you with a response, can I just ask that you TRY, just once to try to post without using that same inane smiley? Its like you're constantly laughing at your own 'jokes', and makes you look a little sad...

Dont think you'd have any problem getting behind ashley cole :lolol:

I know there is a 'super-injunction' etc, but how is it Cole dosn't get nearly enough stick about this? Will England fans rip into him if he f**ks up in SA?
