Ok hypothetical situation, Terry plays and we win the world cup OR Terry doesn't play and we don't?

I'm not sure there will be many people who would rather we lost if Terry DID play. He may be a COCKER but he's hardly Russell Bishop.

I hope we win. I would prefer it if Terry missed out because I find him, shall we say, hard to warm to.

'John Terry has today taken a knock in training and has gone to hospital for a precautionary scan on his right foot. He left Cobham walking freely in a protective boot, and we await the results which are expected on Thursday.'

Sounds more promising

Quite. Serious enough to have to wear a protective boot. :clap2:

As i said previously on an Ashley Cole thread - I have no reason to dislike Terry - I support Brighton and England - Terry plays for England and is class - I couldn't give a shit about his private life thanks, just his football. I hope he is fit for the WC as i'm an ENGLAND fan. So yes i also like Terry for these reasons. It seems Wizard is one of the few talking sense on this thread...

What was ' embarassing ' about any of my comments ? I'm genuinely interested.
Just read it. I can't be arsed to trawl through it, but I just remember cringing and chuckling at your contribution at the time.

And why do you always leave a space between ' quotes ' ? I'm genuinely interested?

Well said. This moral high ground nonsense is growing tiresome.

Well, the first, obviously. I'm not that much of a ****. ;-)

Oh and why don't you like him? Because he planted Bridge's missus? Surely that is going on all over football?

I think he's a scumbag - from a family of scumbags - so it's frustrating to see people idolise him. He should never have been England captain. He's a terrible role model for kids.

Has Tommy Elphick/El-abd played for and captained the team [and been outstanding ask Chelsea fans] that has won 3 premier league titles, 2 FA cups, 2 league cups and 2 community shields? Thought not.

You are wrong, you know it. People keep using the fact 'he's a c*nt' as the reason he should not be in the team, why is this relevant to him being in the team?

Elphick and El Abd don't miss in vital penalty shoot outs

He is overated because of what he has won and the people that do well around him get less recognition. with Chelsea his bullying tactics work because the referees alway seem to give into him. Carvalho was the better defender of the two and they were infront of a world class keeper.

At a higher level in Champions League and for England he looks like the GOOD player he is, not the CLASS play he wants to be. He can't step up to the higher level because refs blow up for fouls he gets away with in the Premier League.

Now Cappello has to chose between half fit Terry, half fit King, half fit Ferdinand, uncapped Dawson, fully fit Carragher and Upson

A

I'm sorry but this is nonsense. There is a reason why he is so highly rated: because he is a WORLD CLASS centre half. To say that Carvalho is better than him is ridiculous. Carvalho is a good centre half but he is a liability and Terry has bailed him out on a number of occasions.

Terry is your archetypal 'stopper' and complements Rio and Carvalho perfectly, much like Sol Campbell did when he played for Engalnd. As I've said before, Ranieri, Mourinho, Grant, Scolari, Ancelotti, Erikksson, (McClaren) and Capello have all rated him as their first choice centre half and appointed him captain, and they all know their onions.

Probably not, is your mate the one whose house is being bought ? If so then i was obviously given the wrong info by the bloke fronm henfield who told me it was lampard.

No, mate lives in Small Dole down the road, but the guy he uses does a few properties in the area and found out this way.

However wires can get crossed especailly if he isnt a football man.

Oh well. It's not like we were going to win anyway...

Correct.

People seem to have forgotten that regardless of how good our outfield players maybe. We have an unbelievably crap selection of goalkeepers.

Quarter-Finals for us again, Terry or not.

As you didnt just answer with a smiley I thought id reply.
Yes he is good, great, i dont think so. There are loads of better defenders than him that are English. He is just fortunate they are always injured.
Terry has been out of form and when ever there is any striker with pace he always looks bad. Carvalho made him look like a better defender than he is

I would love to know the 'loads of better defenders than him that are English' as i really don't agree with that, he would have been replaced years ago if this were the case.

The only people I am going to find it hard to get behind are
John Terry, "Stevey G", Cashley Cole and Jamie Carragher.

No problem with the other 26, but I really don't like those 4.
