OK....but Carragher has been UTTER SH*T this season, agreed? He's been at fault for countless goals. I don't see why he is suddenly going to become better at FOOTBALL.

By his own high standards he has been below par, yes. If you take Liverpools stature out of the equation, he still played regularly for a club in the top 7 who got to a UEFA cup final so he couldn't have been that bad. If he played for Villa or Everton, no-one would have a problem.

I'm not sure that punching people in the FACE, in bars, is all that 'nice'...

True, but footballers get provoked on about an hourly basis on nights out so one (fairly minor sounding) incident isn't necessarily a huge blight on his character. In my opinion, like.

I guess Gerrard is one of those footballers who I've always thought is "a bit of prick", whereas Terry and A.Cole are utterly contemptible C*NTS of the highest order who I wouldn't spit on if they were on fire.

I can't say I've seen much Premiership football this season, but who else is there to be a backup right back? The fact that people have been seriously talking about 35 year old Gary Neville sums up how bad the situation is, IMO. I'd rather have Carragher than Wes 'I'm a defender that can't actually defend' Brown.

It is a concern, yes. I was half-hoping Hargreaves would be back in time.

I think Milner would do a better job there than Carragher on current form, personally.

But I want Milner on the left or in the holding position, so it would be a waste of Jimmy.

He's been "below par" by the standards of a blind, 3-legged, deaf horse with learning difficulties.

On the BBC website is says that Capello is considering playing THREE centre-backs and wing-backs, if Barry is not available as a holding midfielder..

I am hoping that Carragher is not going to be needed, however, with the fitness of both Ferdinand and King in question, I think there is a good chance he will be called upon............

I'd rather have Jamie Carragher than Wes Brown and Ledley King than Joleon Lescott or Matthew Upson.

Basically, I'm not bothered about John Terry because he's a complete kvnt, while I'm confident Ledley, Dawson or Carragher will do a good job. Ditto with Barry, I'm sure Milner will deputise ably.

It's all about Rooney. The rest is window-dressing.

Spot on.

With Rooney, we are potential winners of the World Cup (and anyone who disagrees should look at some of the teams who have won major tournaments in the last 30 years). No doubt about it.

Without him, we will struggle to make the Quarter Finals.

Like you say, "window dressing". Everything rests on Rooney. No pressure Wazza.
