As long as the psychopath doesn't start any wars in the Middle East and is not regime change proactive it is good with me. Everyone was crying about the end of the world when he was last elected and we are still here and not involved in any new wars.

If you really want to identify real psychopaths we have to start will Bush and Blair and all the people who pushed the regime change policy in the Middle East, destroying and destablising it and causing extremism from people who suffered during it. Have you been asleep for the last 20 years?

Agree with you ... I think.

I really dislike Trump as an individual and listening to him speak makes me cringe. HOWEVER, look at the alternative: a 77 year old who appears to be losing his marbles with a dangerously left wing running mate. I fear that the looney left would have undue influence over that pair if they were elected. Trump has at least been good for the US economy and, much as it pains me to say it, I think he is the best option for the next four years by which time both parties will hopefully find candidates who are electable.

One thing that could sway more support back to Trump is people have now seen the Democrats let cities burn and criminals have free reign to commit crimes unchecked.

People will always put their families and their safety first.

Calling for defunding of Police or supporting it could have some blow back at the voting booths.

Who doesn't want Biden to beat Trump ?

Try the American public in November.. Plus millions in the UK and around the globe who are NOT left leaning. After all the bollox with BLM in the US recently watch Trump destroy Biden like Boris did to Corbyn. The silent majority will have there turn when it really matters. Wait and see.

Biden is on the right of the political scale.

Course it will. Nothing frightens the American middle class more than demonstrations for causes like BLM. (Remember that photo of the armed couple outside their house as the demo passed by?) The BLM activists have, I think, handed him re-election on a plate...

In that case it wasn't so much the protestors that were the bigger story.

It was that the home owners were charged yet the protestors who broke into the gated community were not. The Circuit Attorney naturally is a Democrat.

Is Biden the correct replacement? I doubt it but he's the best chance of unseating Trump. Not only will that be good for US but for the world. He has made the US a volatile, dangerous place. And that suits him. He sent police and troops in to cause violence at peaceful BLM protests, the man is a warmonger on his own turf. He has divided people on issues of race, welfare and wealth. He has bungled Covid spectacularly and it's only a matter of time before he sparks something terrible on a global scale. Get rid if we can.

Not that it matters. It's corporate America that decides who best runs the country, not voters.

The hard left and progressives are never voting Republican, whoever you chose to run against Trump. Biden appeals to the central votes, and although I don't agree with Harris views or track record. He couldn't really chose anyone else for Vice as the other options were too far left to pick up the swing votes. Nothing speaks to American voters like the phrase "tough on crime".

America has spent far too much money and time cramming anti-communism propaganda down the American peoples throats for the last 60/70 years, and in doing so convinced them that socialism is the same.

Bernie knew he wasn't going to win and that the democrats needed a "safe bet" in Biden.

Anyone who watched the RNC last night and still thinks Trump is the best pick needs to give their head a good old wobble. No plan, just fear mongering and more divison.

It doesn't matter who is "in charge", over a long enough timeline the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. If the President at the time isn't facilitating that, he goes. Simple as that.

Surely it's more about who gets to shape the future of the Supreme Court? Realistically there will be 1 if not 2 appointments in the next presidential term and it matters for decades who makes that decision. If it's a Trump Republican that's a disaster for the country. If it's Biden, it'll be a moderate to maintain the balance of sanity and intelligence rather than whatever the Christ that was last night.

Surely this guy isn’t mentally fit for office? How is the the best they can come up with to compete with Trump?

Anyone on camera continually could have a montage of um/err/hesitation/confused looks produced. We all do it.

However, I do totally agree that the democrats seem completely unable to pick a decent candidate. Is there noone in the democratic party 45-55, educated, professional or military trained, photogenic, articulate, not a sexpest/drunk/gambler? Got to be the easiest walk into the presidency ever facing off against Trump on a second term and the democrats are hamstringing themselves.
